Political opinions are fine, these random political arguments that last for multiple pages are just really silly.
But how else can I over-react and get all butthurt over shit strangers say on the internet?
You are only trans if you actually change over to the gender you identify as. Sex have two categories male and female. Gender is a slider with varying degrees of masculinity and femininity.
Furthermore, being trans is not a state of mind train one gets on because it's hip to be queer. It is a genuine medical disorder that deserves it's treatment by transition operation and therapy but it should be strived for to find the neural cause of the problem.
it should be strived for to find the neural cause of the problem.
The cause has actually been fairly well narrowed down for the most part. It's caused by hormonal imbalances during pregnancy which cause the part of the brain associated with gender identity to form incorrectly, matching that of the gender the person identifies as much more closely than that of their birth sex. If it were neural then it wouldn't cause such serious issues because medication and psychiatric therapy could actually deal with it.
And you should really try actually being informed on a subject like this before forming an opinion on it. Your entire post only goes to show you're completely ignorant on the subject.
IMHO I think the massive downward spiral we've collectively been on since Obama left office has left people too numb to have any sense of perspective. There's so much shit flying all over the place that it's become a chore to commit it all to memory, so much that you can't even remember who diarrhea'd the lion's share sometimes because the turds have all become a dizzying, incomprehensible fecal blur.
I've been less engaged in politics, current events and such lately because it really feels like nothing is going anywhere. With the mainstream media's constant barrage of catastrophism-laden and sensationalist headlines about how something MASSIVE is happening that turns out to be inconsequential and/or a dead-end, its hard to really put any stock into anything i see/read when it comes to the current administration.

Regardless of whether or not you are trans yourself, what makes you qualified to deliberate what a "true" trans person is? You're going to ignore what all the specialists and doctors and other people who put years into research or other individuals who have firsthand experience with transgenderism and declare what you think it is?
I used to be kind of a dick regarding trans folks. I'm still 100 percent sure on the brain chemistry shit but I realized I dont really have the right to talk shit nor does it really matter if they are "offically" male or female.
Just let people do their thing aslong as they aint hurting nobody.
There's seriously no excuse for ignorance on trans stuff, the internet exists, use it for god's sake
There's seriously no excuse for ignorance on trans stuff, the internet exists, use it for god's sake
Not that easy where literally every discussion regarding transgenders is people arguing whether or not a cock makes you a man or not.
I've ALWAYS been in favor for civil rights for trans. I just never brother spending hours researching to see who or what makes you a "real [insert gender]". I just didnt care since the answer wasnt going to change my stance. Not like im going try to stop people from using bathrooms or ban them from schools.
You can also spent months and years learning and studying about quatum physics. Doesnt mean im an idiot because I didnt brother wasting my life on something I had no interest of.
Video games containing a primarily furry cast should have 21st century humans as eldritch abominations, with teeth of steel and plastic (lawn mowers), killer plagues (modern pesticides), claws that can shape the very earth itself (a shovel), etc.
I dunno, I just think people would be an interesting hazard for the player to navigate around.
The problem is that they don't want to. They see trans people in a negative light and get offended over them and their actions. A lot of these people will sadly be transphobic for the rest of their lives. They were raised thinking that being "different" was wrong and it was beaten into their heads until they know nothing else.
Think about how many of said people have grappled with gender dysphoria themselves and decided to succumb to the hatred beaten down upon them and became self-hating transphobes themselves.
It's really depressing to think about.
As a umbrella reply, I say that I never claimed to be an expert on trans issues but my statement is merely my opinion.
And what is this thread called? Unpopular opinion.
Same as the unpopular opinion puffin meme on 9gag or imgur. Do you really think it is used correctly? No, the actually unpopular ones die on their way and the ones who make it to the front page may be unpopular in the mainstream but common on the site.
This means it degenerates into a smug circlejerk of ideas.
IIT, if you get agrees instead of dumbs or disagree you are posting the wrong stuff.

Just because the thread is for unpopular opinions doesn't mean anyone has to be remotely respectful of your opinion that's probably unpopular for a reason. You're entitled to the ability to post your opinion, you don't have immunity from criticism.
I am aware and never claimed otherwise.
Using "cuck" as an insult is unbelievably stupid. Especially when it's some random dude online saying "feminist sjw cucks". It's such a retarded word.
[editline]8th September 2017[/editline]
Also, when people complain about SJW's and Feminists it makes me genuinely concerned about that person. Like when some random dickhead online generalizes feminism as only being what you'd see in a cringe compilation or "feminist gets REKT! fuk SJWS". It feeds my depression.

"hur thread is called unpopular opinions therefore I am allowed to say dumb shit"
Please don't use that argument, you're welcomed to give your unpopular opinions but don't use the thread name as an argument when people dislike what you say.
Transgender issues are a fucking minefield.
I remember really getting butt-hurt about how some writers were ruining a game series with some really poorly written, pro-lgbtq narratives where it really didn't fit. With mary-sue figures of the spectrum and bad Cis men. I could write a page about a particularly bad port town in 13th century muslim africa, and another about an obese caricature from Rue Pall's Drag Race having the appearance stat of an internationally acclaimed beauty, and suggested character relations to say that despite the sass all players should think she's great. Did they miss the point of drag race?
(also backtalking your elders is suicidal and being overweight isn't emical to the condition the players are in, but i could critique all day)
Anyhow. I wanted to fight bad writing, members of the community were real toxic about it (because criticising terrible pro-lbgtq writting=criticising lbgtq), so I eventually grew toxic because my oponents (the forum i was discussing this on had a habbit of banning anyone who'd agree with me). I can be pretty toxic on forums anyway, so I didn't really need an extra thing to be toxic about.
Just avoid gender politics. You've also gotta consider your location of it. Where I live normally, you can be a rainbow and nobody'd have a problem unless you got upity about it or flouted it to peak levels, and there is no wage gap. Honestly with how much more my mother earns in comparison to my father (i don't know exact figures), even the concept of a wage gap baffles me. In other places i've been, you best pretend to be straight and praise the man. It's no use for me to say "well you should stop focusing on your silly gender issues because everyone's equal" because in other places, they're variably not.
It does upset me how much people on both sides overcompensate for their arguments, but they're gonna overcompensate if i bring that up, so best avoid it.
I really don't know what you're talking about like 95% of the time.
See the issue here isn't that you posted an unpopular opinion. That happens all the time here and we're used to it, obviously.
The issue comes when you make blatantly factually incorrect statements and try to pass off sheer ignorance as something else. If you clearly don't know what the hell you're talking about then yes people are going to call you out on it.
And in the case of transgenderism on Facepunch there's really no excuse for ignorance at this point. I don't recall if Radley has actively taken part in past transgender discussions on Facepunch but I know for certain I've seen them rating/lurking some of the bigger discussions that have happened in the past where ideas such as their first post here were explicitly addressed several times because there were a lot of people espousing those same views. So they definitely should be aware already that their opinion is factually incorrect.

If anything sex has a stronger case of being a spectrum than gender does since the "points" are easier to quantify and categorize. We can identify many physiological differences as being "male" or "female" with most people falling pretty strongly on the ends. You can try to limit the definition to someone's reproduction facilities for practical purposes, but that misses the big picture of what's really going on as it doesn't explain say, men's greater ability to build muscle.
Sex-wise this puts transpeople somewhere in the middle, as HRT does change quite a lot of your characteristics and chemistry. And even without HRT there's been differences noted such as transwomen having BSTc regions more like what women tend to have then what men tend to have.
I've always wondered if i should view my gay friend who wants to be a girl as straight.
I am aware and never claimed otherwise.
Sure seems like you're trying to pass off criticism of your statement with "HEY MAN IT'S WHAT THE THREAD IS FOR" to me.
I've always wondered if i should view my gay friend who wants to be a girl as straight.
It's often confusing even for transgender people but from what I've hard from a lot of people, and does make sense, is that a transgirl who's interested in guys would indeed be considered straight. Your sexual attraction is in relation to your own identity so since transgirl identifies as a woman, being interested in guys would be no different than with any other woman.

This is factually incorrect
I actually hope Yakuza Online flops on PC,because someone will get a wakeup call, be it SEGA or the Steam Community
but why tho
we dont have a singular idea what its going to be even, and even if it is just a dumb mobile game, sega probably wont even release it in the west anyways
[editline]8th September 2017[/editline]
when it comes to yakuza games, you really can only take them when they can get them, the fact sega is pushing again for their western release after the abysmal sales of 3, 4, and 5 is a miracle to begin with
reminder that the localization of 0, kiwami, and 6 are all paid for by sony right now, hence why the ps4 exclusivity
Either one of two things will happen if Yakuza Mobile flops:
SEGA will realize that they're a bag of dicks because we have seen time and again that the "Testing the waters" bullshit hurts the consumer in the long run, or failing that, we might get something along the lines of "Wakey wakey, motherfucker! you still have to buy x so y can be on PC", because it's still like that since 2013 and honestly, i don't think it's worth gambling with your favourite developer's disposition towards PC gaming (Because that's what a Tales fan would be doing if they don't buy Ace Combat 7 on Steam).
I'm not a fan of the need to buy a game that i might not necessarily like just to get the game i do want ported over, but at the same time, people don't seem to realize that's how Japan works when dealing with PC gaming.
a large number (probably even most) journalists, investors, and politicians lack the knowledge and time to sift out bad ideas from good ones when it comes to technological development and innovation. I have severe doubts about the abilities of scientists and engineers to solve the big problems of the day (and the ability to discover technological solutions to problems) when so many of them are engaged in deceit and an increasing share of the output of technological and scientific innovation is becoming harder and harder to actually verify. Massive sums of money and support are thrown to projects which are obviously unpractical (solar roads) or something completely mundane (juicero) by investors and politicians alike.
I think it should deserve a lot more skepticism, like, a lot more.
The souls games honestly aren't that hard. There's so much cheese and almost every attack has an incredibly obvious telegraph. You just need a little bit of self-control, and dodge timing, and then you're good.
It's nothing like ghosts n goblins and I wanna be the guy, games that pretty much break you.
I don't know if it's unpopular opinion but I never liked paid lootboxes, for me it's pure hazard.

I don't understand but GAMESCOM thingy seems overpriced to me. Players can get these for free, right?
As far I know yeah you can get them for free, and then you sell them for ~2€ because some fool is willing to pay that much for it.
