I do what I want with my free time, thank you very much.
I always felt they were kind of a one hit wonder with that Daft Punk medley.
Nah, they have tons of great songs, covers and originals
I had something longer to write, but changed my mind on it.
Anything "bog standard" is automatically shit. Genre is irrelevant.
Now the issue of rock is that it's the go-to for tallentless hacks (like my uncle who's near 60) that want to play some live music and replay the "songs of their youth". A lot of styles of music don't really aid this ensemble approach for live music so well and so gets filtered out because it's only good for record companies. So it's easy to see why you might get this opinion.
Rock music ain't "a product of it's time" 'cause it's evolved over like, 60 fucking years. In a few years someone like you might be saying the same for synth music or metal.
yeah it had 60 years to stagnant lol
[editline]4th October 2017[/editline]
and most modern metal just sits real tight in it's little subgenres and isn't that interesting, why I fell out of it
[editline]4th October 2017[/editline]
why hip hop is so exciting rn because of all the new subgenres being developed and while a lot of them are pretty trash or just another genre with a hip hop groove it's still new shit
I mean i listen to math emo revival so idk what I'm saying lmao

there's a subsection of people influenced by american football / cap'n jazz that do the whole math rock emo stuff and it's fantastic
the first Snowing EP "Fuck Your Emotional Bullshit" from 09' is one of the greatest examples
[editline]4th October 2017[/editline]
emo in general keeps having these minor revivals and they're usually the more punk or math influenced ones and it's great because the more pop emo sound got so saturated in the 00's that it is essentially a dead genre
Green Lantern would make for good Adult Swim material. Considering the apparent lawlessness in DC's interpretation of the far flung reaches of space, one could definitely get away with a lot of things that just isn't kid-friendly.

there's just as much new and interesting rock and metal as there is hip-hop
The 1990 'It' miniseries is incredibly good, and it's not just Tim Curry, the music is awesome and the child actors are honestly some of the best I've seen up until Stranger Things.
I r e a l l y don't like dogs. I begin to hate the owners more if they ignore my obvious avoidance and go "he won't bite!!" "he's just a puppy cmon!!"
Like no, I don't like dogs, and I won't make an exception for yours

It's corny shlock and I get a distinct feeling people like it out of nostalgia. Its scares fail, Tim Curry is more funny than terrifying, things that should have more context don't and some of the most dreadful writing you'll ever see.

Let me translate what they're saying
"you're irrational and I don't care to inconvenience myself to cater for your crazy sensibilities."
It's just human nature. I get pissed every time an arachnophobe flips his/her shit and demands I go take care of their ridiculous problem. I'll give them points if they admit it's irrational and say please, but a lot of them just don't. Spiders aren't even a hazard in this country. If you're getting upset over a puppy then they're just not going to have any empathy there.
The new ea battlefront doesn't look that good

Jesus christ??? I'm sorry I really don't like dogs and stay away from them, but saying I'm irrational and trying to inconveniencing people cause I'm crazy, is just absurd of you. Calm down.
Plus I did not mean a literal puppy. It should be obvious that when a dog owner says "he's just a puppy!" They're talking about their medium / large dog.

?
"inconvenience myself" has nothing to do with your motives at all. Are you capable or reading, or are you that desperate to twist his pointed statement into a declaration of war?
"inconvenience myself" has nothing to do with your motives at all. Are you capable or reading, or are you that desperate to twist his pointed statement into a declaration of war?
??? it literally does, considering that sentence he made, was as a "translation" from the owners point of view. Which are saying "I don't care to inconvenience myself" aka implying I'm trying to inconvenience them.
Why do you have to be so rude about this?
someone not wanting to inconvenience themselves doesn't mean you want to. A blind man walking on my foot has no intent to, but i'm still gonna tell him to get off my foot
As crap as The Cleveland Show was, a Joe or Quagmire spinoff would've been way worse.
Why not both?
One can have ridiculous upkeep, the other is just one towel swath and you're done. Plus swords could make a dandy ornament. Seeing old swords gets me all excited.
As crap as The Cleveland Show was, a Joe or Quagmire spinoff would've been way worse.
I mean what can you do with that? Joe's a cop in a wheelchair and Quagmire's a nymphomaniac which were told to DEATH on Family Guy. They wouldn't last three episodes by themselves.
It's like taking a popular side character with one dimension and putting him on the spotli--OH WAIT.

it's The Jack, he's probably some edgy 13 year old who thinks that human emotion is what's preventing us from achieving the next stage of our evolution, and that if humans were 100% rational beings we'd be sailing among the stars by now

I've never seen a post by The Jack that wasn't terrible to the point of hilarity
yea im afraid of dogs as well. It isn't really a phobia-level, but I don't like getting near dogs I havent been around for a while. Same with any animal. I don't know how they think, and I've been bitten a few times before by just existing.

Dogs are terrifying. I don't care how nice or tame you say yours is. Above a certain size of dog, if it decides it doesn't like me, I'm dead, with not much I can do about it, and with that in mind I'm going to be fearful of it.
Don't like horses or cows for the same reason. They're so huge.
I don't think you have any empathy to give anyway from the sounds of it...
Phobias are not rational. That's the whole point of them. Shitting on people for having them isn't going to solve a single thing.
No. You miss the point, and I don't think you understand what empathy is.
I don't go "AHA, YOU ARE AFRAID OF DOGS/SPIDERS, HAVE A DOGSPIDER" because shitting on people doesn't wet my jimmies as much as I'd like it to, or as much as you'd like to imagine.
It's a simple fact that irrational phobias are irrational, so they don't fucking occur to you as rational.
Imagine you started talking with a hypothetical guy while sitting down and then you get up, he panics, and you find out that he doesn't like to see your jeans cause he's got a phobia of them. So he wants you to stay sitting where he can't see them, change clothes, or leave the room immediately.
You'd be the biggest shithead in the world if you didn't think this'd bother you at least a little. Chances are you don't even register it as a real thing, because it's so fucking odd.
That's how people feel.
"why do i have to get up and murder the harmless spider for someone else?"
"Does this person expect me to get rid of the dog while I socialise with them?"
If you don't have a phobia, you don't understand the fucking stupid panic a person'll have when they see a poisonless 5mm horror near the ceiling behind the TV. That doesn't necessarily mean you'll throw the thing in their face, but you're unlikely to dutifully do your murderous duty with happiness that some privileged fuckhead just lost function and became dependent on you/You had to go off and put your best dog forever somewhere else so you can talk to someone you care less about. That's not asshole thoughts, it's just normal. You're not (probably not) consciously trying to inconvenience people, but you're doing it.
If you were apprehensive around a Rottweiler or a Red-Back or whilst climbing up a cliff with poor safety equipment I'd totally fucking get you, and if we were talking tigers and scorpion pit's I'd consider joining the fear brigade, but that's rational stuff so people get that.
