Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, to me, isn't bad because of its lesser focus on horror compared to the original. As far as I'm concerned, it's garbage because of how ludicrously dark everything is even with candles and lamps out the ass. It's dark past the point of spooky, and more into the "holy shit I don't want to play this it hurts my eyes" area of dark. Sure, I can turn my gamma up, but then everything is a disgusting, forced shade of blue and I'm on console where I can't remove it.

I sort of enjoyed A:AMfP but it felt a bit too straightforward and on-rails. That type of games should have exploration allowed in them, but there was no reason to explore because all you found were some notes that half the time had absolutely nothing interesting written on them.

swiping is so much faster in my experience. chip readers always need a few seconds to process and then you gotta enter your pin and then its gotta process that whereas i used to be able to just swipe the card, hit cancel for credit, and be on my way within 3 seconds.

the piece of shit chip contact on my card always oxidizes a little so I have to rip it in and out of the slot a couple times to get it to register.

Every shop I've went to accepts cards, only some market stalls deal with cash-only but most of them have card readers as well.
Some cards don't work in certain countries, that's true, so when you're on a vacation you probably need to rely on cash.
