Trailer reviews are fucking dumb. Ooh, a movie reviewer I'm subbed up to uploaded a new video, cool. Wait, never mind, it's just talking nonsense about a trailer that got released, completely fucking pointless.
people who hear of CRISPR and immediately think of curing genetic diseases and creating cat girls are doing more of a disservice to science than people who don't know about CRISPR at all
I haven't worked with CRISPR (or any gene technology on eukaryotes really) but the thing that interests me the most about it is that knocking things out seems remarkably less shit compared to other methods.
I've returned from the grave to post an unpopular opinion that's been sticking with me ever since my latest rewatch of Star Wars. Why does everyone think Boba Fett is so cool? He doesn't do shit in the films. All he does in TESB is follow Han, stand near Vader (and remain mostly silent), and take frozen Han into his ship. In RotJ, he gets his blaster sliced in half as soon as he joins the fray, binds Luke for all of ten seconds, and then gets knocked into the Sarlacc Pit by a blind and distracted Han Solo. Did he do something in the comics or in a book that people really liked? Because he was a pitifully unimportant and uninteresting character in the films.

all the people talking shit about crispr are RUINING my dream of one-day not having celiac disease and eosinophilic esophagitis
you gotta love him for his persona and image
If that's what Lucas was going for, then he did a really shitty job. Boba Fett never really impressed me in the films, and I've rarely seen him in any other Star Wars medium. I'm sure there's EU content featuring his past deeds that I just haven't read/watched, but I feel like that doesn't really justify his hype either.
Well, Return of the jedi ranks easily among the worst star wars films, so in the event they ever redo it to be less shit, maybe they'd give bobba a less shit death. The only good parts were the Luke+vader(and emperor) bits (which were fucking ruined by being intercut with ewok shit) Boba was the clever one of the bounty hunters commissioned by the empire, and they gave him some plot weight with the prequels (and the cartoon). I can see why people'll hype him up and dismiss what happened to him in RotJ. But for real, for the most part the prequels were better than most of RotJ
I liked Boba Fett because he had a cool helmet, cool armor and he was a bounty hunter. Bounty hunters in fantasy/scifi are all cool cats.
I got a "talk to the hand" gesture from Boba Fett once at Disney World when I told him I loved him.
As said before, the vast majority of it is just implication and his design, but like anything else Star Wars everyone'll always be able to make paragraphs about the most minor things :v: Darth Vader is a goddamned calculating tyrannical killing machine who doesn't take shit from anyone. And Boba Fett repeatedly gets away with it. Vader only promises a substantial reward for the hunters who track down Han & co alive, and only moments later he has to specifically tell Boba no disintegrations (and even then Boba has the gall to snarkily answer back) - If Vader knows about someone, their skills, modus operandi, and then even reluctantly trust them, they have to be mental to some degree. So Boba Fett goes on and single-handedly does what a Galactic Empire cannot, and furthermore convinces Vader to give him Han's frozen body as an extra part of the deal. And despite Vader's immense power, he only gains Boba's respect when he fulfils his promise. Furthermore he knows how to immediately deal with threats. His immediate reaction to Chewie acting up is to simply take aim, and later on he covertly sets up an ambush all by himself when he hears Luke & R2. On top of that he's kitted out with numerous weapons, a blaster in his wrist, grappling wires, a jetpack, and has his own unique one of a kind ship. Boba's a well prepared one-man army. and episode 6 happens :downs:
This, I think people don't give Boba enough credit for his actions in Episode 5. He's shown to know his stuff pretty well, and I think is a lot of why people like him (outside of everything about him in the EU, of course) on top of just being a cool looking character. Personally, I'm not a fan of how either Boba or Jango got treated in the movies, they both kinda got shitty deaths for no real good reason.
Speaking of Boba, Temuera's take on him is way better than the original.
I got a "talk to the hand" gesture from Boba Fett once at Disney World when I told him I loved him.
woah cool me too except I get that with everyone haha
Speaking of Boba, Temuera's take on him is way better than the original.
I think Jason Wingreen is still a touch better than Morrison as Boba, especially since Morrison literally phoned in his performance for the remasters. However I prefer Morrison's clones over Dee Bradley's. Sure, Bradley is able to individualize a bunch of clones and his performance in TCW is quite stellar, but I don't like how his take on the clones sort of has this slight cartoony feel to it. Can't really explain it myself but I can't take the clones as seriously even if they were getting blown to bits and chopped up by ventilation shafts while being voiced by him.
PUBG sounds kind of boring. I like a lot of the concepts but it seems like every single game plays out roughly the same and ends roughly the same; snooping around in some buildings then hiding in grass before either shooting or getting shot by someone 8 miles away. Also the loot box early access shenanigans puts me off completely.
Shadow of Mordor is a really overrated game. It's a good spectacle and the cinematic qualities are very well done, but all the gameplay bits could be seriously improved upon, and gameplay is a huge part of of my experience.
I think a big part of Boba Fett's appeal is how he's basically the only character in Star Wars to not be intimidated by Darth Vader. That's badass.
The two best Christmas songs are "Marshmallow World" by Dean Martin and "Little Saint Nick" by The Beach Boys.

The combat is horribly shallow but it's an audiovisual treat.

Decided to give it a try anyways since almost everyone I knew were playing it, and found it was actually fun for like an hour at a time. It's not a game I would play for six hours straight, but something I can launch every now and then and play for a couple of hours, preferrably with friends.
Blade Runner 2049 is a good movie, but far from the masterpiece people make it out to be.
bladerunner 2049 is an average movie dressed up like a masterpiece
I'm gonna need this explained because I legitimately don't understand the sentiment here.

Witcher 2 has a better story than Witcher 3 (read much more consistent).
Niko Bellic > All GTA5 Protagonists
Pure RPGs, that have nothing going for them besides combat, are trash.
I don't even think RPGs have good combat systems in general. There's about as much depth as a kiddy pool.
I don't even think RPGs have good combat systems in general. There's about as much depth as a kiddy pool.
divinity original sin has a nice combat system, though it gets annoying at times
Niko Bellic > All GTA5 Protagonists
Pretty sure everyone who actually cares about the story or character personality agrees with this. GTAIV's flaws were mostly on the technical and gameplay side, while GTAV's were mostly poor narrative and dumbing down aspects that were great in IV.
Jak and Daxter is better than Ratchet and Clank
