First person melee combat in Bethesda games just looks like wild arm flailing, kind of like gmod ragdolls.

Thinking back on Activision's Wolfenstein, I can't help but think that a sequel to the 2009 game would've been more welcome than The New Order, especially with the apparent Soviet interest in Nazi occultism. (Maybe instead of Nazis, Blazkowicz could square off against magic wielding super Russians?)

Wolf09 was more entraining than TNO or what I’ve seen of TNC. Not to say that they’re bad games, just not as engaging

I actually really enjoy Guinness - I love the creamy head to it, and the dark body goes down smooth as well. But every single one of my mates is disgusted by it? And no, it's not like they drink that pathetic excuse of a beer that is Bud Light; they drink pretty standard beers like VB and Carlton Dry.

Guinness is mediocre. The one I drank, at least. I heard it's better in England.

I don't like Fallout New Vegas. Same goes for 3, they were kinda boring and gunplay was junky as hell. Story was okay in New Vegas, I'm looking forward for F:NV 4. I don’t think doctors should be allowed to force adults to take medication if they are refusing it. Obviously tranquilizers are different because that’s a solution to an immediate threat, but it’s a very slippery slope if people are allowed to say “Nah, you’re a danger to yourself and you just don’t know it” and force them to take medication against their will. Those with defined and diagnosed psychosis, obviously, cannot speak for themselves, but if someone is lucid enough to say “No” and understand the consequences of it, then they shouldn’t have to take medication if they don’t want to.

The high pitched screaming and yelling and "lectures" are incredibly unfunny to me and it feels like his humor hasn't left 2007. Like Zillamaster said, his annoying yelling or just unfunny jokes makes him quite hard to watch for me too. Then there are the skits... oh boy those skits really last longer than they have any rights to do. This got really bad lately, worst offender for many being the Hocus pocus review. Its a shame he focus too much on this, cus like Zillamaster also said, his editorials or his Doug Reviews, where he talks seriously about a topic or a movie, are actually pretty good

There was also some pretty obvious quality drop for AVGN around 2013-2015 with fairly weak Nerd videos that clearly were aping off of the old show's formula. Granted, I think that was largely due to his whole family situation, and that's also when he moved away from ScrewAttack (iirc), and now that's pretty much settled. It was really obvious for those 2-3 years that he was trying to squeeze more money out of it, and it showed, but now he's clearly doing Nerd videos in a more comedic and laid back sense, rather than trying to hammer them out as fast as he could.

To be fair, the whole "angry critic/gamer" gimmick has become really stale after the past couple of years. I used to enjoy a lot of both NC and AVGN in the early year of 2008. But as time passed by the formula got old really fast. Is rare for people to do this kinda of character for their videos nowadays. Funnily enough, I find myself watching Linkara's videos a lot nowadays. Sure, there's some angry moments here and there but it doesn't happen as often like in the Critic videos. He's more snarky than anything and doesn't really resort to skits to be funny.

If I have to install a mod to "Make the game more enjoyable" that isn't a bug fix, then the game proooobably isn't worth playing.

I honestly just hate NC's skits. They've never been funny to me. I can half tolerate the yelling and high pitched nonsense, but the skits are just so... unnecessary. They're pretty much the reason I stopped watching.

It's mostly the constant yelling and screaming that annoys me in his videos, but the skits tend to be dumb too, especially if they're those imaginary drawn characters (like casper the ghost) that float next to NC.

I don't get the complaint about PUBG being in this year's Game Awards. It's being sold for money and is one of the most popular games in recent memory. It sounds released to me...!

The "asshole/angry/apathetic critic" schtick has been explored and done to fuckin death and back and I find it very tired now. I have a difficult time with even Yahtzee now, and TotalBiscuit completely changed his persona in the last couple years, he's much more positive now and he's said he even wants to drop the "Cynical Brit" branding. These days I love Dunkey as a humorous reviewer, because he's just so sincere and he doesn't hold back on gushing about things he loves and tearing the shit out of things he doesn't. And his goofy humor doesn't feel mean.

The only reason the angry critic thing worked with AVGN in the first place was because the games he was reviewing really [I]were[/I] actually bad and mostly deserving of the ire he threw at them. The people who came afterward (especially more blatant copies like Irate Gamer) missed the point, you can't just heap hate on a game that doesn't really do anything to deserve it and expect it to work.

the new rune system in league is a backwards patch IMO in terms of promoting personalized play style choices. It just seems oversimplified and has a lot of dumb gimmicks in the initial trees (press the attack- hello every single ADC staple)

Serious Sam 1 HD is not that great. Fun combat, lot of different enemies, lots of different guns, secrets BUT god awful level design, god awful AI pathfinding and attack paterns, god awful enemy spawns, weird difficulty spikes. I have only 5 hours on it and don't plan on finishing it because of my immense frustration with the bullshit I have to slog through. It's not fun.
