I don't recall if I've said/confessed this before, but I wouldn't mind selling my privacy out to large corporations if they make my life easier because I did that. Corporations have no interest in learning who I am as a person, I so don't really care about it too much.

The problem isn't what companies do now per se, but how powerful that poor of information could be to any malicious actors in the future, whether they be companies, governments, or just plain criminals.
Newpunch isnt bad.
I disagree, I really think the context behind the art is very important so sometimes whoever drew it is a really big deal. Sometimes you can read people's emotion through their art, or retroactively see it after its documented about their struggles, or any other part of their life that may have affected their art - to me its like a person belongs to their art.
I feel like seperating the art and the artist is an excuse for people to validate them liking someones art who they think is bad, but I dont even think that really matters. You can praise someones art while acknowledging they were an ass
I was thinking in more in terms of their own horrible opinions and such. Like of course their life and shit is important a lot of the time. But I wouldn't support and give platform to someone with horrible opinions
The Shape of Water has been massively overrated. It wasn't outright bad, but it's not good either.
I prefer Fallout 2 over Fallout 1.

I thought like almost everyone thought that tho
I thought like almost everyone thought that tho
Bet the majority of Fallout fans...even some with ungodly amounts of hours in the games such as myself(4k hours split across the 3D games)...wouldn't put any of the 2D games above the 3D games on their rankings.
And I'm in that group as well. How fitting that it's the unpopular opinions thread, but honestly, the gameplay of the first two games and all the semi-canon spinoffs on their engine is absolute fucking garbage. Even by the standards of a point-and-click turn based cRPG from the era, the gameplay is a raging dumpster fire. Turns progress on geological timescales. Enemies in combat have fucking aimbots, whereas your helpless vault-dwelling/tribal arse can't hit the broadside of a barn from inside the fucking barn until you've ground up 5 or 10 levels and dedicated every single skill point to the relevant firearm skill. I tried, genuinely tried, to play both of them, but got no further than the first major city in either one of them.
Shame, because the writing, the dialog, the setting, all leaps and bounds better. On purely that basis I'd put the ranking as 1, 2, NV, 3, 4. But on a gameplay basis, 4, NV, 3, working for CEVA Logistics, 2, 1.
It's also not exactly very immersing when I have to take flavor text at face value vis-a-vis how moldy that old couch is or how rusty that wrecked Corvega is. There's something unique to first person perspective that makes it much muuuuuuuch easier to get immersed in the game. And that certainly didn't help when I tried to play the 2D Fallout games.
Going 3D, first person, and switching to real-time combat was the best thing that happened to the Fallout series since SPECIAL. There. My unpopular opinion for today!
I didn't want to stink up the Oscars thread in the Sensationalist Headlines with this, but: I think the Oscars/Academy Awards are bullshit. I find it ridiculous how big it's played up when it has nothing to do with the "common people" and is largely a circle-jerk and political soapbox for the Hollywood elite. It seems every year we're left wondering "why wasn't this one at least nominated and why was this one nominated." For instance, Boss Baby is nominated in the animated category whereas LEGO Batman has had no nominations-- that I know of, albeit-- despite being a far better film in every aspect. I would even speculate that the only reason it is up there is because it stars one of Hollywood's favorites: Alec Baldwin. Don't get me wrong, some of the directors, actors, films, etc. do deserve recognition, but I think the Oscars are too influenced by their politics. Personally, I could care less if a film received no awards or a hundred.
Both the DS4 and XBone controller are both really nice honestly, cant go wrong with either of em
I feel like which one you get comes down to preference/hand size
On the topic of hand size, I think the Xbox One has been getting better at that somewhat.
On the topic of controllers, I think Hori should do the exact opposite of what they did for a PlayStation 4 controller: Make a Playstation style Xbox Controller
I can't be the only one who takes like 30 minute showers?
I've tried cutting down on the time but with the relaxing warmth of the water coupled along with all the steam that builds up in the room from it, it's hard to resist.

30min-60min showerer here
I heard somewhere that it supposedly resembles being hugged
and I like cuddles
I sit down in the shower and think about life.

I regularily take 30-60 minute showers, sometimes even 1.5 hour ones. My usual shower routine involves a lot of sitting on the floor and just warming up, or slowly shaving myself to give me stuff to do. I also brush teeth in there simply because it's so nice to have a hot shower.
I'm destroying my life, might as well destroy my skin and hair while I'm at it
I can't really stand having a "hot" shower. I thought I was having hot showers before but some people have the temperature at some seriously boiling temperatures. Unless it's a cold day/night, I won't put mine above a rather mild warm.

if it doesn't scald off the top layer of my skin it's not hot enough for me
Employers that ask for cover letters should be asked to pay a tax that goes towards employment insurance and/or welfare programs, because cover letters only exist to contribute to the unemployment problem.

Honestly, if you want me to write an individual mini-essay that is specialized around your company/position when I'm applying to at least half a dozen positions every day, I would prefer some sort of security deposit.
Hugging is like a platonic form of sex. A limp hug is like fucking but not getting to cum; just disappointing. If I don't feel passion in your hug we might as well not do it at all you weak bitch.

I tend to be 5-10 minutes in there. I don't particularly enjoy it, it's a chore I do because society insists I do so. Well, that, and I tend to do so as soon as I wake up before work, which is a time frame I try to minimize. Usually 30 minutes from waking up to actually leaving.
I also don't really have it 'hot'. I get it 'comfy', which has the water somewhere between 60 to 80 degrees(Summer V winter).

Honestly, the application process needs to be streamlined tremendously, and employers need to stop making ridiculous demands of experience in fields that nobody ever offers entry level positions in for jobs that don't need much, if any, experience for a reasonable person to do.

As someone who's been doing the job hunting thing for a while now, there are a number of very specific things that piss me off:
a) Having to re-enter my fucking resume on a number of different HR automated parsing systems (looking at you, Taleo, you steaming pile of shit ). I mean, ffs I went through the process of making a simple, handy dandy one pager resume for you, you mean to tell me that that is a such a pain in the arse for you that you feel the need to put in this information into a separate system that you ultimately don't refer to anyway? (I had one employer ask me via e-mail what my number was after attaching my resume and filling it out on their shitty TribeHR/JazzHR/whatever bullshit CV parser they had.
b) Don't make me come back to your shitty jobs portal to come and "check on the status of my application" after enduring all this bullshit. Just send me an automated mail if you've closed the position and want to notify all applicants. It's not like I'm sitting on my hands all day going "Golly gee, I sure do hope MegaCorp likes that resume I sent in after spending half an hour manually punching shit in because fuck you, that's why!" I'm busy applying to other companies.
c) Sometimes, HR are incompetent. I got a rejection letter from one company in Canada recently where the doofus in charge of sending it out forgot to fill in fields (Dear <CANDIDATE NAME>, We really appreciate you applying to SpecialIndieCorp, ..." And yes, this was supposed to have been done manually and wasn't an automated process; he mentioned it exactly once and there were a few spelling errors which would be shoddy either way, but points to this being a manual process. It took every fiber of my being not to reply and ask for a renewed application, but for the job of the person who sent that email.
As for the cover letter, I take the path of least resistance because it's unlikely anyone reads that shit anyway considering how they just crunch all the resumes into an ATS anyway. So I just treat the cover letter as a sort of old-school SEO document, create specific versions that highlight words that are the most common in postings for a specific type (For example, Customer Success Manager means CRM, Customer Relationship Manager, Escalation Team, etc. are words you want to drop in there so their crunchers pick it up). Worked pretty effectively so far - this came as the result of a casual chat with a recruiter in the US who helped me out, gratis.
I think people use "not having a filter" as an excuse for acting like a jerk
i can only assume he knew that basically all ps3 games already had the option to flip the bumpers and triggers, i can also just assume that he meant that the triggers/bumpers sucked anyway, which they sorta still do to a degree
We aren't talking about PS3s.
[editline]a[/editline]
He asked if the PS4 uses bumpers for shooters. It doesn't, games since launch have been triggers by default. It's that simple. There's no need for interpretations of what's being asked.
Besides, I'd argue the triggers are solid and the bumpers are just based on preference of wanting something clicky like what the Xbone controllers have when they're fresh out of the box vs. preferring a softer button.

What bugs me most about those resume readers is having to manually enter everything off of it anyway. What the fuck is even the point if you're having me copy it all over by hand?!
I think people use "not having a filter" as an excuse for acting like a jerk
exactly
being blunt =/= being a complete dick
"Oh, I am just very blunt" "I just say what's on my mind" and "This is who I am" are not valid excuses to be a douche for no reason.

i swear, there is such a disconnect between my real life friends and facepunch in terms of unpopular opinions
Personally I would say that 85%+ of the time it just means "I have some really fucking awful opinions and I'm a huge bigot. Deal with it."
Or "I'm too immature to be considerate of my surroundings and understand what's socially acceptable behavior; so I'll just pass it off as 'brutal honesty' bro."
