I don't see how this is an unpopular opinion, it's basically just an actual fact Toes in general are just kind of pointless, toenails even moreso.
good luck walking effectively without them lol
good luck walking effectively without them lol
People can lose all of their toes and still be able to walk pretty well after adjustment. It's not as good as having your toes ofc, but people are fine without it, especially when they get shoes customized for them. It's not uncommon to hack the toes off of diabetics
You only need your big toe
You only need your big toe
while the big toe is the one that can bear the most weight, as the series of answers here show all your toes are important for a normal human gait, and without them, we would not be able to walk even close to how we can. [editline]31st January 2018[/editline] here's a real hot take though, Dan Carlin's podcasts are not good.
Something that's been on my mind for a while. As a newer f̶a̶n̶a̶t̶i̶c̶a̶l̶ ̶r̶e̶j̶e̶c̶t fan of 40k, I actually like where 8th Edition Warhammer is going, and all the old veterans of editions past should should stop being so stuck up with the changes by now and get over the fact that Ultra-Marines are gonna be Games Workshops go to poster boy chapter for the Space Marines. From what I have seen, Ultra-marines have been the go-to mascot since Second or Third Edition, and I am personally okay with a little bit of noble progression with the setting. I never liked the brooding over-the-top bleak setting that 40k has, and I think that is a issue that makes a lot of people uneasy about the franchise when they first hear about it. I myself felt conflicted because I like all the factions and it looks fun to play, but I don't at all dig the gloomy lore and "Grimdark future" setting at all for some reason. Maybe it's because I am light weight, and I know this paragraph sounds like some sort of executive circle member trying to tell everyone what is hip and politically correct these days, but a world so depressing as 40k for me is not fun, and it's not fun for me either to disregard official canon lore that comes with crunch of the game.
I really don't agree with the mentality that a single game can kill a genre/franchise. To me, It's incredibly narrow minded and ignores the potential for any future developments to change anything for the better. It also makes people believe that games of a certain genre/franchise can't come back as a result, even if there's still plenty of potential room for improvement or exploration left within them.

The only difference is that nowdays it's trying to take itself series, which for a series based on ripping off ALL THE SCI-FI TROPES, is kinda silly. But hey, maybe we'll get Squats back with less grimdark.
Only if you're a toelet with tiny stub toes. My toes are practically a set of small hands at the bottom of my body.
But that's the thing, pretty much all humans have just stubs for toes. I can grab fallen pencils or lift a bottle of shampoo with my toes easily, but imagine if the toes would actually be more dexterous and similar to fingers? Then they could actually be used for more stuff.
Something that's been on my mind
Satire is the greatest thing ever and only a fool would take it away. The only reason something should ever seem less satirical is because it's been refined to an exquisite point, moving away from farce and towards something subtle and cutting. I'm not a huge fan of 40k, but everything the Imperium of man does and says is so deliciously stupid that it'd be a crime to ever change that. If you lightened the tone, what the fuck would the series say about anything?
But that's the thing, pretty much all humans have just stubs for toes. Then they could actually be used for more stuff.
They were similar to fingers at one point, a long time ago on the human evolutionary scale. The problem is that this is detrimental to bipedalism, which is a far more helpful attribute to have. The pressure that will be applied to long, finger-like toes is difficult to deal with from a practical stand-point. You can see an example of this if you try to walk on your hands. You'll notice that it's easy to apply too much pressure and hurt your fingers.
I don't see how this is an unpopular opinion, it's basically just an actual fact Toes in general are just kind of pointless, toenails even moreso.
I like wiggling my toes in socks. [sp]also foot jobs are kinda hot so[/sp]
Their music just feels generic and boring to me. Everyone around me talks about them like they're the best band ever but I can't be interested in them even at gunpoint.
you want generic music? KISS is fucking generic music
Fuck KISS.
I don't really have anything against KISS, they're generic at worst. Gene Simmons, on the other hand...
Fuck KISS.
Wouldn't that just basically be a blowjob? :v:
Plus I think the big toe and pinky toe at the very least are used for balance, right? I remember hearing that sem-frequently
The pinky toe does nothing, its vestigial. Big Toe is super fucking important for balance though.

Metal Gear Survive doesn't tarnish the Metal Gear name because it's just a spin-off game, Mass Effect 3 does tarnish the first two games because a large part of their intrigue is the mystery of the Reapers, when you know the incredibly dumb explanation behind them you can't go back to having that mysterious intrigue. It doesn't retroactively ruin the previous games, but it does take away from them. That said every game should have a chance to come back. If the first game in a series is great but the second sucks that's not reason to write it off. Look at Dragon Age. First game is fantastic, second game is poopy butts, third game is really good even though it has open world pitfalls.
The pinky toe does nothing, its vestigial. Big Toe is super fucking important for balance though.
I kind of doubt it given that the muscles function, it hasn't really been shown to be declining over time in humans, and it's an extension of your foot that makes contact with the ground, exerts force, etc.. (at least im assuming your definition of vestigiality is something becoming useless)
Ok I can't be the only one who thinks that Sam Smith looks similar to George Michael [t]http://i64.tinypic.com/2uhwmj7.jpg[/t] [t]http://i68.tinypic.com/311tnaa.jpg[/t]
people who say origin is better than steam are lying. it's ui is hot garbage, and it can't keep a consistent download speed.
people who say origin is better than steam are lying. it's ui is hot garbage, and it can't keep a consistent download speed.
I haven't heard a single person say that Origin is better than Steam
I haven't heard a single person say that Origin is better than Steam
I've seen it multiple times on this forum

Fortnite BR is fun, but I really much prefer the slower pace of PUBG. I find it way more engaging that way. Plus I actually like being able to upgrade my guns with attachments. Wish it ran better. Fortnite has the added benefit of being developed by the UE devs.
on the subject of AC/DC: overexposure sucks there are some genuinely alright or even good songs that have been totally killed for me through sheer overexposure, and not in a "oh it's popular it sucks" sense, but just from being played so often in so many different places that it makes me enjoy the sounds themselves less good examples of this are all of AC/DC's hits (except Dirty Deeds), "Master of Puppets" and "Sad But True", "Symphony of Destruction", etc. etc.-- not particularly bad, but now they just irritate me more than anything else although there is some good shit in AC/DC's back catalogue ("Beating Around the Bush" comes to mind)

Very few people enjoy hearing the same thing over and over and over again, especially if they are unable to change it themselves. Here's how it's done. AC/DC and all of the big four are (mostly) shit, with a few very good albums early on in their careers that helped them coast to fame, and lethally high levels of filler after.
I miss the old Tomb Raider and I think the reboot series is just completely forgettable trash. Tomb Raider was great because, for a while, there wasn't much like it in terms of exploration and adventure. As technology progressed there were more opportunities for interesting design but instead the series slowly but surely veered towards brainless action to the point where everything's just obnoxiously loud and bombastic all the time. Like, there was relatively little destruction in the original games, fewer gunfights still. The intensity of the old titles came from tension and suspense, with music cues being used aptly and firefights being the least of your worries. This pretty much disappeared as time went on, but at the very least Legend and Underworld kept the adventure aspect intact despite the gratuitous and pointless action. The reboots just go so overboard that to me it's impossible to like them. It's a series that was butchered by trend-oriented game design and I wish it'd go back to what it once was.
