I'm sick of negativity on youtube/gaming community. "The game didn't die, it was MURDERED". "IT SHOULD HAVE FAILED" "WHY IT FAILED", the list goes on. I'm sick of it. Give me more shit like Pgunnii, people are excited and not pessimists about the world.

Status updates and comment sections are always urging you to give your opinion. Every event and every piece of media is followed by a text box that, by merely existing (but even more so if it exists as an integral part of the layout), implies you need to have an opinion on everything, and share every opinion you have. This is a big issue, we never lived like this before. We already fall for easy labels when it comes to everything else in life, what now, that we're always being egged on to assign as many labels as we can, on everything we come across? I feel like we're falling for easy labels a lot more often. Everything 'bad' a 'good' person does has to be the start of a downfall, and everything 'good' a 'bad' person does has to mean it was a bandwagon all along. Sometimes it's like there's no such thing as liking or disliking content just a bit, it always has to go all the way into one extreme or the other, because everyone wants to be the guy who sees what no one else sees and point out that the emperor has no clothes. IMO we need to be more conscious that you don't always need to be opinionated. We need to value how an opinion is framed, worded and presented, and not how strong its position is on a "like-dislike" scale.
Well, when I see "What didn't work/everything wrong/ look how shit this is" i'll think about clicking, sure, cinema sins is pretty shit now because they're too fucking long, but negativity's usually interesting. When I see "things X did right" or "Y reasons we love X" or X wins" or whatever the fuck's positive I just don't even consider the option unless it's a really weird choice. I also really distrust people who seem to need to stay positive. That's a fucking horrible condition. It's like people complimenting you when you're not really happy with your work. Feels more like emotional consoling than something useful.
That's a fucking horrible condition.
No it's not? Here's a few examples from my own life. I had a pretty exciting semester in Fall 2017. Lots of travelling and doing new stuff. One of the first things I did was go sailing on Lake Erie (and despite the name is basically a mini-ocean). This trip lasted about 7 days, and I have a history of sea-sicknesses. It would have been awful if I let the negativity of possibily getting seasick, or actually getting seasick, get in the way of experiencing being a sailor onboard a Tall Ship. And yeah, I did get seasick. But I got so much more out of the experience by being positive about it, and adding another experience to my life. I was able to experience the emotions and feelings of sailors long-gone, and sailors today. How fucking cool is that? If all I put in was "ugh this is awful I'm going to be sick" that's all I would have gotten out of it. Instead, by keeping positive I helped turn it into one of the most positive experiences in my life. I won't ever forget the night I actually got seasick. It was 0300 and I had been on watch since 0000. I wasn't sure if I was seasick, or had hunger pangs. The swellls were fairly big (I think we were in the 8-10ft range at that point) and it was at times a struggle of a watch. But I kept at it, doing each job that I was given thouroughly. Finally, at 0300 after having been on the helm for an hour, I told my AB that I was seasick. She sat me down with a bucket, and the OS of my watch got me some saltines. After about 15 minutes I finally managed to finish one saltine. The OS is standing a bit off to my left, and the AB is coming back to check on me. As I'm in the middle of saying "I'm actually starting to feel a bit better" I put my finger up and throw up all over the deck. The OS says "Wow, that looked like an effect straight out of a movie!" (All I had on my stomach at that point was water and one saltine lmao). For most people I'd imagine this would have been awful experience. But for me it wasn't, because then I would just have bad memories. I got to be seasick on Lake Erie on a Tall Ship! Or when I was on a Whale Watch in Monterey Bay I was seasick 4 times in 2 hours. But you know what? I got to see whales and sealions and other assorted sea creatures and it was fucking great! Who cares if I was over the lee rail? There were fucking whales! It's much more fufilling to have a positive experience than a negative one, to have happy memories than bad memories.
I feel like a lot of time when I see people being offended about people supposedly being offended, that the people that they (the people who are offended over offended people) haven't asked themselves "but who are these people that I'm so offended over" and "can I come with more than 10 serious examples of these people that I'm so offended about"

I don't give a shit if people ar eoffended; I'd be much more inclined if they told me why with a valid reason than just expecting me to change something/apologize just because their delicate doiley sensibilities were ruffled. Stephen Fry put it best in this video:
people who say origin is better than steam are lying. it's ui is hot garbage, and it can't keep a consistent download speed.
Origin's not bad now but people were saying it was better than steam back when it still lacked basic functionality like group chats, which is just delusional. It's just anti-steam backlash.
Origin's not bad now but people were saying it was better than steam back when it still lacked basic functionality like group chats, which is just delusional. It's just anti-steam backlash.
It's still awful. It should have taken me roughly an hour to download the 6 gigabyte Turning Tides patch for BF1. It took me over 6 hours because Origin doesn't know what a steady download rate is. It would get to my max speed for only a couple seconds before dropping down to 500 kb/s or less, oftentimes sitting at 0 kb/s. I do not have even close to a similar issue with Steam.
Console style turbo buttons on gaming mice should be a thing. Would be much better than that double click button next to my left mouse button.
I really don't agree with the mentality that a single game can kill a genre/franchise. To me, It's incredibly narrow minded and ignores the potential for any future developments to change anything for the better. It also makes people believe that games of a certain genre/franchise can't come back as a result, even if there's still plenty of potential room for improvement or exploration left within them.
One game can kill a franchise, but that's entirely on the publisher or owner of the IP. Game sells poorly or everyone hates it, they decide to never make a new one, the end. But then if you have a publisher who isn't stupid, they'll release some hot trash like Resident Evil 6 and go "oh, people really didn't like this, let's try something else" and release Resident Evil 7.
Origin's not bad now but people were saying it was better than steam back when it still lacked basic functionality like group chats, which is just delusional. I literally just set it up and forgot about it, then around the time the news dropped, I found out that my origin account's password was changed. I never even used the password anywhere else, but yeah. Failed before it even began. :v: If we're talking functionality, UPlay is just hot garbage. Honestly the worst part about playing the Division or any Ubisoft game was that shittastic application. How the fuck, in this day and age, does a gaming app manager go for so long without adding an invisible mode. Maybe I want to play in peace without having to be a dick to someone who just joins my party out of nowhere. I mean, even Steam has this and when you talk to Ubisoft about this they act like it involves quantum entanglement technology just to get it on the roadmap. :speechless: And the best part is the shit it should show, like incoming messages? Noooope. Find out about those two days later, when I open up the interface. :tableflip:
My origin account got hacked, I got back into it and most of the info has been changed, I can't change any of it back because I need to answer a security question that is in russian. I cannot fucking reach anyone at EA to help so I've given up. Literally spent four days out of a week trying to fix this and made it absolutely nowhere, I opened a ticket three months ago and still haven't received a response. UNBELIEVABLY FRUSTRATING [editline]4th February 2018[/editline] THE ACCOUNT WAS A GIFT FOR MY YOUNGER BROTHER CAUSE HE WANTED THAT WW BATTLEFIELD GAME.

The amount of effort and time saved by it existing is so ridiculously minuscule as to make it entirely superfluous.
cleganebowl is dumb
ICP has some good songs.

Anecdotal of course, but I had my shit stolen, gave them the number of a pre-hack receipt when they asked for it, and had it back in around 11-13 minutes.
Race is more than "just a social construct".
Race is more than "just a social construct".
how??
this is not sad or frightening in the slightest, talk about a "bad future"
White yogurt is the best yogurt "flavour" there is and I'll fight to death anyone who says otherwise.
Well, most times people don't really say they're offended, but mostly just goes on about the sjw's or the feminists or something like that, which is pretty much the same as being offended tbh
It's because they have hyped up sjw's and feminists to the point of being an existential threat. Not only are they far more numerous than they really are (seriously, ask yourself how many SJW's or feminists you know; for me its 0 and 0, but I live in Florida so YMMV), but that they are actually the vanguards of a secret Marxist/Maoist destabilization of western liberal democracy.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with oatmeal raisin cookies.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with oatmeal raisin cookies.
They're far from my favorites but I legit don't understand why people hate them so much.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with oatmeal raisin cookies.
except the raisins
They're far from my favorites but I legit don't understand why people hate them so much.
I think a lot of it has to do with being conned into eating them, thinking that they're chocolate chip
There is absolutely nothing wrong with oatmeal raisin cookies.
Raisins good, oatmeal bad.
I think a lot of it has to do with being conned into eating them, thinking that they're chocolate chip
How blind does someone have to be to be unable to tell the difference? I have literally never experienced this issue.
how??
I guess you could say it's a classification system for people with various different genetics-based physical traits, if you really wanted to.
