Whenever I am playing css or browesing another form people say religion is for dumbasses or religion it self is dumb.
I personally think religion is good and it can help you in many ways. Like getting through depresion or something like that. Or you can ask for forgiveness if you have done anything bad. So my question to you facepunch is why do alot of people hate religion?

I don't hate religion or atheism. I just hate when people blindly, arrogantly, and/or ignorantly defend those commonly rivaled sides..
Actually I'm Christian so i dont hate religion.
I don't hate athiests either, I just hate the kind of athiests who get pissed off when someone says merry CHRISTmas instead of happy holidays.

Something that doesn't exist isn't going to forgive you.
If you've done something bad, try to compensate for it, instead of being a lazy fuck. Or just not do something bad.
Religion, and all of it's benefits, are entirely placebo, or can be replaced with something else without the fairy tales.

Yeah, it has it's advantages, but we don't think it's stupid for that. It's the fact that you're being forgiven by something that exists out of time and space, and has always existed. The ways that 'conversion' has taken place is truly horrifying as well.

I see two reasons. One, people hate the extremists.This is understandable as it is only the extremists that cause the problems. The ones who hate the normal religious people are confused.
Now people are going to be like, "Oh, you're dumb, hurrr. There are no such thing as [I]normal[/I] religious people." That my friend is what I call pure ignorance.

Here are some finer details:
Vicarious redemption (scapegoating), original sin, dogmas, 1984 celestial dictator, idolatry, eternal hellfire; recommending of genocide, misogyny, slavery etc..
You're reducing religion to one parochial perspective, which could exonerate group like Hamas or Nation of Islam for their charitable work. Either way, these acts of charity are done for pretext, or out of adherence for religious dogma (possibly because you'll burn in hell.)
The main problem here is that your paragraph isn't anywhere near intelligible.
And I'm Jewish, the stereotypes aren't true, and all you Jew-hating Christians out there, Jesus was Jewish, so if it weren't for Jews you people wouldn't be Christians.
Also, what I hate about YouTube is that whenever there's a reference to religion or things like 9/11 comment wars start to flare up. E.G. there was a video of a scene from Family Guy where Jesus was having dinner with them, turned all their food into sundaes, and made Louis' tits huge. Someone said it was mocking Jesus. What the fuck.
