hot bitchez n carz In all seriousness though. I was on a photosession with the drivers, team leader and event girls from Jocks Drift Team. PP'ing the pics right now, I'll show you later. It's the biggest crew I've ever had on a shoot
I am brand-new to photography, but I recently came upon a fairly cheap 8 megapixel camera, and discovered the wonders of taking close-up pictures of nothing in particular. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/6ZEWI.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/Xmkb3.jpg[/img_thumb] Mmmm, noise. I tried to cover it up with some color correction, exposure, and more grain, but that shouldn't be a problem anymore because I just learned what an ISO Number is, and how to change it based on the lighting available (thanks to this thread)
What wonders? I see nothing wonderful.
SonofBrim;28687540']discovered the wonders of taking close-up pictures of nothing in particular
I know it seems like a really neat thing to do, but try different types of shots immediately if not sooner. The more you experiment in the early months of learning photography, the more choices you have to branch off of as you grow more adept. And to be honest, the shots aren't all that bad, but they are very generic. That's what I and hopefully the others in this thread will/are trying to do, is steer you clear of becoming a snap-shot oh hey this is my ______ close to the camera kind of photographer. As long as you're willing to learn there is no reason why you can't be taking amazing shots in a few weeks. If you have any photography questions, ask them. You can never learn too much about photography.

The first thing I did was take tons and tons of close-ups, and when I was done it occurred to me that most of them are dumb, so I picked the two that actually looked cool (while still a bit generic). I don't really have an "eye" for it yet, but I'm trying to get a bit better. Thanks for the advice, I'm going to go try some outdoor shots.... I don't have anything better to do at the moment :v: Here's a not-close-up one: Still nothing special, still rather generic. I'm trying to play around with the contrast and exposure to get a dark, "hard" look without crossing the border into stupid. And a brighter one. Trying to go for an older, film look. Right now I'm in the process of reading over that thread for beginners, it's got a lot a ton of great advice for newbies like myself.

My favourite shot of yours. :)

Yesterday I went downtown and forgot my camera at home. Biggest regret of my life....
If that's the biggest regret of your life you're doing pretty well.
Yesterday I went downtown and forgot my camera at home. Biggest regret of my life....
I had that today. Had to go to school for an open-day for my school. I had to inform people interested in my education about what it's all about and I had overslept. I had to go very early with the upcoming sun. There was this mist covering up everything and this paired with the upcoming sunrays resulted in a great scene. Which was ironic in a way, as I had my camera with me the other days of the week but just today I didn't need it for school.
Your whitebalance is a bit fucked in the third one :)
It's actually because it's over-saturated quite a bit, but yeah I see what you mean.
Can you list everything you bought?
I bought a 430ex II flash, iSync 4 wireless triggers, and a Westcott umbrella kit (consisting of an umbrella, silver/diffuser with removable black coat, a stand and a hot-shoe mount. Powering it with Energizer Rechargable 2500 batteries. Also arranged a last-minute car shoot with a vehicle owner who wanted some pictures for his car that's for sale, but my flash wasn't working (I suspect the batteries died). I like that shot, but the blue fringing in the background is bugging me. It's good, though, I wouldn't worry about exposure.
YOU I keep not being at my computer when you send messages, sorry.
