The Creative Photography Thread - If It Ain't Bokeh, Don't Fix It

Best option is a telescope with a camera mount.
Second best option is a mirror lens. (usually 500mm + a 2x extender)
Oh I found this:
The active surface of my Oly C-2020Z's 2.1MP, 4:3 CCD measures 4.8x6.4 mm with an 8.0 mm diagonal. To fill its frame with the full moon, I'd need a whopping final actual focal length of 100 x (4.8 / 0.91) = 527 mm! On a 35 mm camera, that focal length is equivalent to 2625 mm, an impossibly tall order for any camera lens. With an actual focal length of only 19.5 mm at full zoom, my C-2020Z would need a 27x increase in focal length to fill its frame. That kind of magnification falls squarely in telescope or at least spotting scope territory.
Get a telescope :v:
I took that picture with 250mm lens from 15meters above ground (I think it helps a bit).
Maybe we should just wait for the next super moon and hope it comes really, really close :downs:

Perhaps I should post some that aren't scenes.
I can't tell if I've taken these too far after shooting. I did them a few nights ago and decided to come back to them later, and now I really don't know because I'm ill and fed up. So I thought I'd let you guys tell me

Thanks.
I don't want to fill the whole frame, cropping will do fine.
I have 70-150mm lens, I'll buy a 2x teleconverter (they're cheap for FD mount), which will make it a 300mm, pretty sure it's good enough.
Also, 15 metres above ground does nothing, since the distance to the moon is varying from 360 000km to 400 000 km, so 15 metres is nothing..

I want bacon now :saddowns:
Bacon strips.
Bacon strips.
Bacon strips.
When I studied Astronomy at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich I got to peer at the moon through their telescope there. It was absolutely incredible - could see the shadows cast by the craters. I'd never seen anything like it in my life.
But anyway, I stuck my Canon Ixus up against the viewfinder and managed to get some fucking awesome shots of the moon. I'll have a look on my old computer when I'm back in London and see if I can dig them up to show you guys.
Aw crap.. Forgot that I had F.Lux installed on my editing computer (it works so well I am used to it now) as I was editing that bacon photo. It's so different to how it was >:(
But oh wow now I look at it here..

Loovely.
Have you tried cropping the third one down so that the land on the left isn't there?
I stuck my hand over the side of the photo and it makes it look otherworldly - with the sky fading into the water, not knowing how long the ocean extends for.

There was a guide thing a few pages back.
I found this curious site when looking through my referrals, ffffl*ckr
As much as I like shit talking flickr, there's a bunch of good photography on there. Unfortunately, finding it is a chore. Unless your idea of art is a painting of a hotrod on velvet, explore is useless. Groups aren't much better, since they require people to self-promote. The interface for checking them is pretty useless too. Contacts are pretty cool except that it's impossible to actually find new photographers.
That's where ffffl*ckr comes in. Use it to find the photography you like using the simple idea that people whose work you like, probably like stuff you'll like. You start with a set of pictures - if you authenticate, it'll use 20 of your last 100 favorites - otherwise it'll start with somebody's favorites. Click any picture to load more. Don't like what that person likes? Scroll back and click a different picture you like. It's that simple.
You have 4 functions in total:
1. Click the picture to load that photographer's favorites.
2. URL opens the picture in a new window or tab.
3. Click the upper right hand corner to view the image large.
4. If you've authenticated, you can fav pictures straight from the app. Just click the star and you're good to go.
That's it. Disable safesearch if that's your thing. Sometimes the backend can't connect to flickr. Stuff may still be wonky, it's a beta. Still, I've ended up using this for hours at a time over the past couple of days, so I'm releasing it right now.
You may have noticed i had to change the name. Let's just say I have a different interpretation of the TOS than the flickr staff. I also need to say that, "This product uses the Flickr API but is not endorsed or certified by Flickr."
Enjoy.
I've been browsing through it for like 20 minutes now. :3:
Made a stereoscopic image.
