Started my 52 project this week. Got a quick shot of my mom opening the back hatch to her SUV, used that as my 1/52: 1/52 by tomshandruk, on Flickr And then I had her just chill outside for a little bit while I circled her taking various shots. This one is one of the only ones that turned out: Smoking by tomshandruk, on Flickr Wish the focus was on the cigarette in that second one, but oh well. I might try to retake the shot tomorrow.
I have nothing to post, but i'll post some stuff soon-ish? on a completely unrelated, and possibly old, topic: i swear i have lost some of my post count?
Garry removed everything from before 09 and loads of people lost tons of posts. [editline]25th March 2011[/editline] I think that's what happened. Jaanus you should know.

He wears a trenchcoat even in the hottest summer days :v:. He's getting a DSLR soon and he is on Facepunch so you might see stuff from him sometime soon.

That is Ice, and potholes are caused by the freeze-thaw cycle where the tarmac/concrete expands and contracts gradually forming cracks, so it's inevitable. Also MN=Where?

Roll_program how do you pull off black and white so well? Whenever I shoot in black and white digital they look terrible.
Adobe Camera Raw, click the greyscale tab to on the right and select greyscale, fuck with the sliders, you control the luminosity of each colour individually. Then, in Photoshop, Layer > New > Layer, mode: overlay, check fill with neutral colour (50% grey). Use a 10%ish opacity 0% hardness brush in either black or white to dodge and burn non-destructively. Fill in shadows, create shadows, create more intense whites, make more contrasts, basically, paint with shadows and light.

Did you make that overly blue on purpose? Don't really like it if I'm honest.
it's a purple light, I just turned down the saturation and upped the highlights.

But seriously, when there's a tilt like that on the camera, and you try to include a vertical surface in the background, it almost takes depth out of a photo. It looks like a very amateur move, but I understand what you're going for. What makes it even more displeasing is the inability to see what's going on on the bottom half of the dog. My eyes can trick me into believing that the dog is sitting straight up, but the background proves otherwise. I know you're a very good photographer, but I'm kind of curious as to what you were going for with the tilt. Edit: I didn't explain my first point very well, but when you have your horizon line towards the center in a tilted shot, it can put a lot of stress on the viewer. I almost want to tilt my head in the direction of the image's direction. Tilting is always a hard aspect to accomplish. I'm only really able to successfully compose a photo with tilt if I'm observing the subject from slightly above or below.
