The Creative Photography Thread - If It Ain't Bokeh, Don't Fix It

Sorry I was dumb with explaining. It's a single speed not a fixed gear. Foot retention would do nothing because I have the ability to peddle backwards :v:
[editline]29th March 2011[/editline]
so yeah, the only way of stopping on it is using the front brake ( :v: ) or your feet on the ground.

Yes but do you have the ability to ride backwards? :smug:

You haven't ridden a bike backwards until you've sat backwards on a BMX (sitting on the handlebars) and ridden it forwards.
That reminds me, I need some foot straps for my fixie. I'd take a nice picture of it but it's raining right now.

Hey guys, here's one of the shots from that roll that I got back yesterday.
Self Portrait of myself and my girlfriend in our lounge room.

LOS ANGLES
Yeah? Try riding full brakeless when your clips are so worn they pop out as your heading downhill towards a stop sign. Haha.
Also you're mate needs foot retention, + his chain looks a lil slack.
but seriously a fixie without foot retention is just asking for it.
btw, [img_thumb]http://cdn.fpcontent.net/fp/ratings/wrench.png[/img_thumb] #1 rule is always take pictures on the drive side.
Why would someone ride without brakes?

On a fixed gear bike you have a suprising amount of speed control using just the pedals. Also some people like to do bar spins and crazy shit like that. I still use a front brake though, using the pedals to brake takes it's toll on your legs (i.e. I'm a weakling)

The light bleed suits that image perfectly, with the colour and palm trees it works great!

I really like this picture, you got the subject right at the centre and I'm loving the fact that the background goes from light (left) to dark (right). It seems as if the cloud is coming from the dark side, and the best thing for me is that you didn't include any birds or a plane, making the subject more obvious and specific. Very nice picture!
Just scanned today my first roll taken with my T70 and all the pictures came out really bad.. Really disappointed :/
Maybe the second roll won't be as shitty.

there's this pakistani guy who does that on his bike on a main road while texting. Absoute madman.

it's something you gotta get a hang of
Know what sucks? Getting charged £60 for a bike service. Know what sucks more? Having the tyre put back on the wrong way. Know what sucks eeeeeven more? Taking said bike out, getting a puncture 6 miles away, and having to hoof it back to Dundee, through the city centre, and up the main road dressed head to toe in fucking lycra.
Hitch hiking is dead.
get your money back because he fucked the tyre
Probably only picture from the whole roll that came out ok (in terms of quality):

Not sure whether it's the film, the developer, the scanner or the camera (or lens)? (Talking about quality again, not composition)
Nothing special really, I've just been trying out taking photos with my cell phone to test out how well I can take them, as well as how they turn out. Some of these were taking a while a go, I just never got around to uploading or sharing them.
Img thumbed even though none are really too large.

Oh, I see, for tricks.
I don't have a fixed gear road bike, but I do have a nice Giant Defy 4. I think I got to 40/50mph on it once going down a hill.
Was browsing through some fairly old photos and found one which might be sort of good-ish.

And if anyone is interested, here is a 150 megapixel panorama of my room, which I've been working on all day: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2668640/LargePanRoom.jpg (15.3MB)
It looks like shit though (the panorama)

Amazing what I can find when I look at pictures I took a few months ago:

CC?
Find a more interesting subject other than stuff in your house, or at least arrange it creatively.
Building myself a ring flash system and a beauty dish.
Certainly going to be an interesting few projects. I'll have it built by tomorrow.
Find a more interesting subject other than stuff in your house, or at least arrange it creatively.
the subject is interesting enough, and it's arranged fine. I think a more shallow dof or focused on something more specific within would work better.
Wondering if I should use my bedroom for studio-ish shots, I have a 2 meter wide section of blank which can fit a portrait whole body shot or upper body portrait in landscape orientation, freshly painted white wall. We don't have any other spare rooms in my house, except for the large kitchen/living room. Can't really see the wall, it's to the left of the shot:
