Have another batch ready, I was a bit relucutant to show my model shoots here. I find them nicely done but still a bit too mainstream. Has anyone some advice for me for a more oiginal theme when I go out for a photoshoot again? Going to do in thumbs now, otherwise I'll take away too much space. These are some other random shots plucked from my Flickr page. shut the fuck up with that 'mainstream' noise. :v: your model stuff is good, but you really need to work on framing and funky angles are fun, but you can't take it seriously. try to keep the frame level. also you're cutting off feet and the top of that guys head etc. that kills it. [sorry if that was a bit crude im tired]
shut the fuck up with that 'mainstream' noise. :v: your model stuff is good, but you really need to work on framing and funky angles are fun, but you can't take it seriously. try to keep the frame level. also you're cutting off feet and the top of that guys head etc. that kill it.
Yeah, an absolute killer with my shots. I often do not take positioning of people in account when I'm taking photographs. Needless to say: I'm an urban photographer and most of the events worth taking pictures of happen in mere seconds. But your advice rings good, yeah.
So, we went to Broadstairs for mine and my friend's birthday on the 29th. Took this shot. I was going to enter this into the week's photo contest but I'm having a friend over to brainstorm other ideas, so I'll post it in here: Old Spice by tomshandruk, on Flickr Nothing special, just fooling with a white backdrop (see: piece of paper) that I found.
1. you're quickly becoming one of my favorites (not saying i think less of the rest of y'all ) 2. you look like Silas from weeds. 3. i forgot my third point. - oh yeah! its awesome you have such a great relationship with your gf.
Cheers bopie. It sometimes bugs me that (from what I can tell) I don't really have a recognisable style, but maybe that's a good thing for me? I don't know. I just looked up who Silas is (I had no idea), and I guess I know where you're coming from. He does look a little like me, haha! Only just realised the third point. Yeah, we're doing pretty well at the moment. Been together for about one and a half years now. I'm lucky that she's cool with me photographing her now. She used to be a little coy in front of the camera, but I guess after she saw that the photos I took of her weren't too bad, she gained a bit of confidence in front of the lens. It's really nice :)
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/C8Fnl.jpg[/img_thumb]
I love this. And another love rant. I know it's been said before, but this area of the forum's really is a cool place. I don't feel I need to post stupid comments, or take the piss out of people which is often the case in the other areas. I'm always happy just to sit and browse through the pages. There really is some talent in this thread. And nice people. [editline]1st April 2011[/editline]
Thank you for your comments. I post some more then I don't use multiply lens and I only taken a basic photography class. These like most of the ones above were taken in my hometown Meknes. These area of a city is called a medina Which is a car-less part of a city usually located within old defense walls(but not always). Pack animals are used to transport supplies down the maze like streets. Their is no windows at street level and the outside of homes are very plain. This is so you cannot tell if a person is rich or poor so to create harmony between neighbors. Usually an open courtyard, to provide fresh air, is found in the center of these homes. This is from Eid al-Adha. A Muslim Holiday that celebrates when the Archangel Gabriel came to the prophet Abraham. He brought a sheep ( lamb ), as a replacement for Ibrahim instead of sacrifice his son. It starts with a long fast and ends with a day of prayer then the sacrifice of sheep. The sheep must be killed by a Muslim or Jewish Male. All the meat is used(including the head) which is barbecued and some of it is eaten by the family but most of it is reserved to give to the poor in the streets.
Morocco seems like a cool place. My dad went there a few years ago to shoot a film and my girlfriend's been there a few times now. I've only ever heard good things from both of them. Also, thanks for the background info. It's always nice when a photograph is put into context.

Nice pictures! I'm really not a fan of Paris. I love France, it's beautiful... and the people are so kind hearted and pleasant. I used to go there pretty much every year, but never got around to actually visiting Paris until relatively recently. It's far too hectic for me, so many tourists, so expensive, the people are rude to tourists (but you can hardly blame them...). I really don't think Paris represents the real France. You should take a trip to Bordeaux or Marseilles. Kayak down the Dordoigne river, stop off at vinyards and shit. It's epic. Here are a couple of snaps of me and some fellow animation students in Annecy, near the Swiss border, for the worlds biggest animation festival. Taken on my old camera so the quality is lacking, but I'm pretty happy with them none the less, good times. Well do you have a fast prime? Do you play in a band. I don't know, but when I take photos of bands they usually come out great if I can keep my hand steady, albeit lots of noise. I guess it's because I'm used to playing in a band and I know how I want my pictures of me to be taken.
