it's ridiculously difficult photographicing a ferret sometimes. you have to keep your focus on that little bouncing head at all times, which doesn't even sit still 98% of the time. and it doesn't help that my lens back focuses a fair bit so when i focus on something i have to actually twist the ring a tiny bit c-clockwise so i can get it to focus in the right spot.
their movement is like a squirrel's, but clumsier and more humourous.
Ferrets are unfortunately illegal in Iceland (sucks I know) so I have to stick with a dog, but my dog is awesome and holds still.

These are straight off the camera and resized, no PP.
I need to get a 50mm 1.8, it's impossible to get the focus right on my MF 58mm f2 with the 1000d's tiny viewfinder.
How much sharper is the Canon 50/1.4 over the 50/1.8? I have to stop down to f/2.8 to get sharp images. Is it worth upgrading to if you ignore build quality and silent focusing?
