Haha I remember when I found a bottle of Irn Bru in the office.. the fridge was dead and it was warm so I buried it in our two feet of snow for 30 mins - 'twas lovely.

Ughh.. What should I do about a hot pixel on my new camera.. is it something you would return about or do I just put up with it?

See if you can spot it.
Is it the area where the left most red dot meets the blue? If not I can't see it. I would certainly return it, it being new suggest you are well within warranty?

What do you prefer, cool or natural?
[img_thumb]http://localhostr.com/files/qtkFvRM/capture.png[/img_thumb]
i prefer that cool feeling because in iceland the light is actually like this, we get this blue tint in my town, i just upped the white balance a tiny bit because it was just overly blue at that point

Natural looks much better to be honest, and straighten your horizons.

You can't really do anything about hot pixels, in fact you don't have that many.
The amount that show up depends on the temperature of the camera, The hotter it is the more hot pixels you will get.

Illegal for me :v:
I'm only like 14
How is this late?
The pixel is up and to the right of the fourth blob.
I see it now, can you take it back or send away for repair? I would do it if you don't need your camera for work. I've read about hot pixels but never seen them till now. Is this on all your photos? and how did you first notice it?
Almost every camera in that price range have hot pixels.
You can easily edit them out with dark shots (take a picture with a lens cap on) and set that layer to subtract in photoshop.

I live in a shitty village in greater London, sandwiched between Richmond and Kingston.

Take pictures of drunk youths and football hooligans. There's loads of them.
My point is: wherever you are, there's always things to take pictures of. People just claim there's nothing to take pictures of because they've lived there their whole life and don't notice everything.
Last time I got within 20 meters of a group of drunk youths they tried to mug me, but tripped over in the middle of the road while they were walking towards me.
If you are going near youths, stay in a group and you'll be fine.
Last images till I get my tripod, promise. (That could be tomorrow!)

Falmouth will be getting my portfolio now, Bedfordshire soon after but I honestly think compared to others I'll have to drop down to tech/community college level for 1 or 2 years and get a diploma before I'm accepted for uni standard. I'm confident my work is quite good and I always feel I improve, but getting into places is more difficult each year and I don't want to build myself up on hype to get knocked down with a rejection.

The last one is really nice, pretty original.
Thanks! I was still bouncing between auto and manual then and I set it to auto when a blizzard came. Taking photos in the dark with heavy snow is quite a challenge!
My friend took this picture of me, he said he wanted criticism so I'll post it here:

He also took this which I thought wasn't too bad considering he has never done any proper photography and that hes using a point and shoot from 2004:

The frame is tilted in the first one and you aren't standing directly in the middle! :P I used Lightroom to rotate a few images around so it's a level as I can tell which is nicer for a viewer, cheating maybe but my hands are really shaky. The birds are small and not detailed or too interesting but the top right one seems like a rebel. Water is a bit bland covering the whole image.
I dunno why but I have no problem shooting in 1/4 or 1/6 without a tripod, must have steady hands or something.

Without IS? U MAD SON! I didn't think I was bad till last night when I was doing some stuff indoor, gotta be real relaxed or the dots in the viewfinder is all over the place.

They seem a bit underexposed, which isn't always a bad thing. Looking specifically at these pictures, it really kills them. The lack of value makes them seem very uninteresting.

Yep no IS.
This isn't the perfect example, the blur on my fingers is due to the mirror (mirrors are made in several layers, etc).

if you actually have the neck straps on all the time you should atleast replace the cheese string with a decent padded one especially on the camera with the grip
saying that when ever i run into a photographer locally they always have the canon/nikon cheese string even if there using a full frame camera, i guess people like branded straps

Well I don't see the reason to change mine. The strap is wrapped around my wrist/hand so that if it does slip from my grip it won't hit the ground. It serves its purpose and I save my money up.
