Ima guess that its a pretty common rookie mistake to think that borders look "pr0fesshunal" eh?
Yeah, I used to to them all the time... Shame, shame.

bopie how do you get such "white" color in your pictures, and the light is always so nice looking. I dunno how to explain it. But I should be getting my 50mm 1.4 in the mail any day now.

I've been screwing around with a 15s shutter speed, I wish I could show you guys my pics so I could get critique. My camera won't let me connect to my laptop.
bopie how do you get such "white" color in your pictures, and the light is always so nice looking. I dunno how to explain it.
I just over-expose, they call it 'high-key'. It adds a sort of 'confidence' to the shots that under-exposure lacks. It takes a little practice to figure out what looks right.
430ex or 50mm 1.8 Agree for 50mm, Disagree for 430ex
some cameras also have a high key auto-preset. Nikons have it hidden in the 'scene' modes. Great for wedding portraiture
430ex or 50mm 1.8 Agree for 50mm, Disagree for 430ex
Get the 50, then save up for the 430. Good light is not going to make up for the kit lens' horrible quality and the 1.8 will help in low light situations anyways; correct me if I'm wrong.
Going through old photos from freshman term that I took. can't believe i got this one I remember posting this one 2 years ago I think, took it with an olympus point'n'shoot (model name is Stylus-1000). Did not go through any photoshop or nothing. Straight from the camera.
Get the 50, then save up for the 430. If I had $20,000 that I could only spend on photography, ever, I'd spend a higher percentage of it on lighting equipment, and only a few lenses. you can do more creatively when you can manipulate light, but this is when you already have a decent lens or two. The reality in this situation is that 1.8 will do more for cueball than a speedlite.
Get the 50mm 1.4 codename, you won't regret waiting when you realise you saved a lot more in the long run by just getting that lens instead of getting the 1.8 first and then really wanting the 1.4 for months.
i wish i had a fancy digital camera of my own. i have to borrow someone else's. :saddowns: i have a roll at my local film place that was done a week ago, but i was too lazy all weekend to get it. And I don't want to take the bus down the hill. Its like a 2 hour ride. but dood it is going to be the shit. 400 speed film pictures of my second cousin's wedding and the Getty museum.
but dood it is going to be the shit. 400 speed film pictures of my second cousin's wedding and the Getty museum.
I'll be waiting. I've got a new roll at the shop supposed to ready tomorrow. They're actually really fast about 120, it takes like 3 days.
Staying up all night to fix my sleeping pattern, as when you want to get something done through the day waking up at 2pm nothing will get done /lazy. Figure I might take the car out later and shine the full beam down some spooky looking lanes BOOOOOOoooOOoOOOO!
430ex or 50mm 1.8 Agree for 50mm, Disagree for 430ex
50mm f/1.4 is just as good of an upgrade as a good flash, the kit lens and the flash would be an equal upgrade in my opinion.
Guess lighting is a big issue for me. I need to take more shots outside haha
How not to advertise yourself as a photographer- http://forums.ohayocon.org/index.php?showtopic=2251
Greetings fellow congoers. I've decided to offer pro photoshoots this year because I need to help defray the cost of going to OhayoCon. Do u have an especially awesome cosplay that u want properly photographed? I will be using all pro equipment and the camera has a full frame sensor. Most SLR cameras have sensors far smaller than this. Compact cameras have tiny sensors the size of a thumbnail. I'm offering half hour and hour long time blocks. That's enough time to let ur creativity flow. U will receive full size TIFF masters of the photos with no corner bug that u can use in ur own portfolio. I will also post a selection on my Deviant Art and Facebook. U can check out my other work with the links in my sig. PM me to work out the details and talk about what u want to do! Thanks.
• no mention of costs (people expect high prices, and for this example, convention goers spend too much as-is and will want minimum prices) • doesn't actually name equipment (after stalking his deviant art I found it to be the 7 year old Kodak DCS Pro SLR/n but he doesn't have -any- other equipment and uses the pop-up flash, no post production at all) • Ur gonna fail if u talk like ur texting (people will think you're young and unexperienced, not hip and in the 'in' crowd of internet goers)
Anyone have a sb-800 flash? If so, how do you set flash settings while in commander mode? Here's a picture I took. I didn't have my DSLR with me at the time. So i used my point & shoot. Big image Resized image It's not the very good. But i'm still new to this :v:
Anyone have a sb-800 flash? If so, how do you set flash settings while in commander mode?
I think the camera takes care of that, doesn't it? Find your commander mode options, I know that with the D7000 there's separate settings for two satellites and the onboard flash with its built in wireless command.

I can understand saying something like that in casual conversation, but when you can type it out (let alone advertising for yourself) you should be able to at least complete the thought. I want to smack him in the face with my 5D.
