Oh and I'd like C&C on my images.
Some highlights from the night, C&C. Those look really great. I especially like the lighting falling onto the members.
183/365 - as with most things, it looked better in my head. Haha man your stuff is getting very awesome. The posing is spot on, he's like 'Oh god what have I done!!!' :O
Yeah I've been pushing myself to do more self portraits, I'm glad it seems I'm improving :buddy:
I can't do self portraits I always look like ass and they just don't ever work out. EDIT: Also looking at your 365 project its amazing how much you have improved and slowly aquired a "style" Imagine how much better you will be at the end of it all.
I'm liking this. I love your photos, they all just have a pleasant look to them.
Thanks mate. Edited: I snipped alot of this, drunken emotional posting.
Terrific photo, but do upload it to Flickr, Imageshack or somewhere that doesn't compress it to hell.
Thanks, Will do In its true glory: It would have been better if I had shot it in TIF. Unfortunately by the time I realized it was in Jpeg fine, I had lost the sunset
but this is when you already have a decent lens or two.
This is pretty much what I was getting at. Thanks for clarifying though :) Correlatively to the subject of flashes and stuff (my my how constructive), I've been hanging over a couple options. I have around $320 to spend (that being EVERYTHING), and I've been wondering if I should get a UV and Polarizing filter to compliment my 250mm, and how much that would make a difference in stuff like landscapes and sports shots (that's about it really). If I get both Hoya filters from B&H it comes to a total of about $105CAD including taxes, shipping and all that great stuff. However, are they really worth it, or should I get a 430exII? I also have the 50 1.8, and I definitely see myself using the flash a lot more (depending how much of an impact filters have) on more occasions. But is it worth it to dish out that much for it? Oh and just a side question, what are the advantages with the 50 1.4 versus the 1.8? Just wondering.
UV filters only use is to protect the front element of your lenses (have one for each lens). Polarising filters are very useful for getting rid of glare, I was at the beach last night with the sun setting into the ocean. The ocean was white with glare making it very hard to photograph, the scene was screaming for a polarising filter.
Yeah the polarizer (fixed; god I'm clueless) is probably more what I leaning towards, but I'm in a position of budget where it's simply one or the other. The flash is obviously the more useful choice but is it worth it? ... I think I might have a feeling of dejavu here as well.
50mm f/1.4 is just as good of an upgrade as a good flash, the kit lens and the flash would be an equal upgrade in my opinion.
Problem is I don't have £270, I only have £150
@rieda: Was it you who posted this picture before in v2? http://bbrks.me/pics/images/10/26.jpg I can't exactly remember who. Nonetheless, I still have it as my desktop background; loved it :)

Got some creativity for some shots from here and decided to try out that "high key" like effect.

fuck yeah, 6400 ISO and horrible lighting conditions are no match for the d7k [img_thumb]http://gyazo.com/68514e675f4d39ee338edbee4837e0ee.png[/img_thumb] 100% view out of [img_thumb]http://gyazo.com/dcea1b674d63aa61fd8a7a9dcc6784f8.png[/img_thumb] I'll find a shot I actually like from tonight in a bit

I have a few more I might post if I can find them. The only thing my photography teacher said about this one was to burn the highlights that aren't part of the girl, so if anyone has any other suggestions I'd gladly hear them! C&C appreciated as well.
Hey daijitsu, mind if you give me a big version of your avatar? I'd love to have it as a wallpaper for my phone.
okay guys, might need your help here. Just got a letter from one of my uni's, I need to take a set of images (10 pictures) of which tells a story related to my interest in natural history. they will be looking at orginality and storytelling and how 'engaging' the work is to look at. And i'm lost for ideas , I've got 2 weeks to complete it.
where do you live? are there any areas of natural interest nearby? (forest, beach, desert, snow, etc)
Penarth, The Vale of Glamorgan (google maps will give you an idea)
I'm no natural history pro but what you could do (I don't even know if it'd count) is have a series of images that transition from total nature (a forest with massive trees), to low density farming, to high density farming, to low density residential, to high density residential, to the CBD. [editline]26th January 2011[/editline] well I have a week left of my summer holidays, and to show for the last 3 months I have 17 rolls of developed negatives, 3 new cameras, 5 new lenses, and being a couple of hundred dollars poorer.
Could do, it's really difficult to think about.
