So, we're releasing 300 chinese lanterns today. Expect photographs sometime this weekend.
I'm chinese. :3: Can't wait! [editline]11th February 2011[/editline] Oh and Noni, you are getting much better! The white balance and every thing you seemed to have worked out. Just find a more defined subject. That's all. There's nothing I'm really focusing on in your photos.
So, we're releasing 300 chinese lanterns today. Expect photographs sometime this weekend.
OMFG I did this last week on chinese new year, but all my photos were overexposed and/or underexposed and/or ultra noisy :j:
I always mispronounce/mess up the definition of words, don't hate :( Just like I keep accidentally calling Lightroom Lightbox.
It wouldn't be as annoying if the word "composure" wasn't so off subject.
It wouldn't be as annoying if the word "composure" wasn't so off subject.
Gotta keep your composition bro, chill out.
Gotta keep your composition bro, chill out.
Composition management would be a good start.

Goddamnit, guys.
The rec-curing problem I see in your photos is that you have no defined subject, you seem to be trying to get the 'big picture', making your photos look like regular holiday point and shoot photos with slightly better composure. Also try experimenting with DoF to define your subject.
Late, but
hello peeps! its me, labbet's alt! to the mods, please don't ban me, i just made this account to ask what camera i should get. Ok, so i have to ask you professionals, what camera should i get? i was looking at the nikon D3100. Its in my price range and shoots HD video. Is it good? I have extensive experience using a canon rebel XTi, so i am not a complete DSLR nooblet. I just need a DSLR of my own. also, i have a film nikon slr already with a telephoto lens. Will my film nikon lenses work on the digital nikon? I heard that all nikon lenses are completely interchangeable. (btw: the nikon lenses i have are AF.)

From my brief fiddle with the D3100 in Jessops it's a nice camera but the screen and viewfinder are bad. Considered the 550D/T2i?
Get a d90 for the same price, same system but without Nikon's crippleware.
[img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1740292/Somemoreshit/66north.jpg[/img_thumb]
this is really fantastic.
Godamn this faulty lens if causing me grief. Shipping stuff overseas is so complicated and i don't even know how much it costs or if I can afford it. Plus there's a good chance that they will ship me another lens with focus problems, which i've heard this happening before. Some guy had to return his sigma 50mm at least 4 times before he got a perfect one. I think I'll just wait another 3-4 months until I can get my canon 60d and use the micro focus adjustment feature in that. But I get the feeling that won't be enough to get the focus right. I heard the micro adjustment feature only goes from -20 to +20, and from looking at my photos I took with the my sigma, it looked like the focus was off by at least 10cm. Will I still be able to get the focus right if I use the adjustment system in the 60d? I should have just gotten the canon 50mm...
I think you should sell the sigma, write off the difference, and get the canon.
Eh, i'm gonna ship off the lens tomorrow. Here's hoping they don't send me another faulty lens. I think the risk is worth it. Even if they send me another lens with focus problems, it won't be as bad as the one I have now and I could easily adjust it when I have my 60d. After experiencing the sigma 50mm, I don't think I can go down to the canon 50mm. :v:

[editline]12th February 2011[/editline] Also the 60D doesn't have AF Microadjust.
I don't think it's DigitalRev problem. There have been focusing problems surrounding the sigma 50mm from other distributors as well. The 60D doesn't have microadjust? I thought all the newer SLR's did
Have some pics. CC please. Better, but still could do with work on composition. Like on the one of the bench, the bench is slap bang in the middle.

Nice composition, but the picture is quite noisy and a bit under-exposed, making it look rather flat. That picture would look really nice if you touched it up a bit in Lightroom.
Nice composition, but the picture is quite noisy and a bit under-exposed, making it look rather flat. After tinkering with the image for a while, I thought that it looked as though I ran it under a photocopier, and then colored it artificially. I still have the original somewhere.
Really experimental stuff DSC02030 by /fa/ggot, on Flickr Would LOVE some cc, guys n' girls.
