It'll work but it won't auto focus, there's no motor in the D3100. From my brief fiddle with the D3100 in Jessops it's a nice camera but the screen and viewfinder are bad. Considered the 550D/T2i?
well, the nikon is a fair bit cheaper and manual focus on a telephoto is not a big problem.

Rolled down to Ft. Lauderdale to hang with good friends DrewShoots (the guy that rips face with a d40) and (shooter of hard wood, fast cars, and foxy broads)
We met on the beach and talked gear, grabbed donuts, talked more gear, and finally got around to the arrival of our fearless model. This being Ayo's shoot drew and I helped with adjusting lights and took turns booming the bare ABR800 used as rim. Fortunately for drew and I I have two cyber sync triggers for situations like this so we got some sick bts shots and I got some killer video!
This is a quick shot I borrowed over Andrsn's shoulder while testing light.. Dug the shot so here she is!

please don't speak until you've worked with shitty models.
then you can see how well the models brian uses are.

Hey, does this show up at all?
And, C&C if you'd like~
Great, Brian, you picked out one photo from an experiment with warm flourescent bulbs as the only light source to call yellow. The point is you do it to virtually all your photos now and it feels less and less appealing as it appears more like you saved a filter and apply it to everything just because that's what you do, not to mention the blue'd black point strains my eyes in trying to compensate for what appears to be a little fog in my vision. I can't possibly be the only one, but whatever. I understand a client will only see their own work and love the way it looks, it's different and looks good.
I used to like the crisp look of most of your older work, despite the fact you still blued or yellowed the occasional shot at the time.
The quality of your work has improved over time regardless of what you do to it in the end, no question there. I just wish your attitude towards anything that isn't glowing praise had improved alongside it.
Brian's new style is much better.
Gonna jump on the bandwagon before I ship my lens off tomorrow

Could someone tell me if my image shows up at all please?
It does :)
Thanks.
Damn, lots of people post pictures in here asking for CC and never get it, do they?
Jokin', haha. Sorta. x)
You get what you give.
That and it takes work to criticize something, especially with beginners - as counterintuitive as that sounds. To be honest your picture is a pretty generic pink sky sunset/rise shot with silhouetted palm trees. Find a subject, it has the 'empty background' look to it.
See? There isn't much I can say, and it makes me look like I'm taking the piss for saying it.
And then you edited that you were joking, which makes me look even more like a cunt
Haha, thank you. I appreciate it. :) And yeah, I was pretty much referring to the others I saw posting in this thread with much better pictures than I and getting no comments. But yeah, very nice of you <3
And here, have a happy little froggy in gratitude.
This one is so amazing pick. I admire the fact that you get to travel around so much. I'm usually stuck in my boring suburb which i've explored enough of. :I

There'll be plenty of opportunities to travel in your life, but really, it just comes down to taking the initiative and committing yourself to the act.

It would have been cool if you'd put a tilt-shift style close focus on the railing, and then hand edited that to look more HL2-ey whilst dropping the gaussian blur on the remainder of the shot.

Frog looks pretty out-of-focus and the general scene is pretty boring, You should have zoomed to get it to fill the frame more, lowering your F as much as possible whilst retaining a sharp focus, and then arranging your position to get a better angle (horizon level or something more creative).

I'm pretty sure it wasn't bcus he did it several times.
I got a 450D a few days back... first time using an SLR. This is my first "proper" photo with it, which I'm pretty satisfied with. Some opinions would be nice :)

That's fucking cool. Where is it?
I would have placed myself a little to the left, to get more of the bridge in the distance and more of the reflection in the bottom left of the image would have been nice. But a good attempt nonetheless.

Thanks a lot man, it's the Tay rail bridge in Dundee, Scotland. I'll no doubt snap a lot more of it, it's a really interesting landmark to photograph. Cheers!
