Did you use your 580ex II for this shot?
yep we have a drop ceiling in the basement and i stuck it up in the tiles :)
Oooooo. It's very nice. :D [editline]15th February 2011[/editline] Your brother is a very interesting subject for photos. ;)
Thanks man :) yeah i dropped it the other night out shooting - fell right off the stand onto concrete. the batteries died at the same time so i shat bricks, thinking it was KIA. its perfectly fine though except the reflector card that pulls out snapped off.

I'm still getting the hang of Split Toning.
Thanks haha. and yeah man that's worlds better. split toning is very subjective and it just takes practice figuring out what looks right in what situations.
RAW for sports photography = anhero. I went to my cousin's floorball game in Richmond a few weeks ago, ended up shooting in raw for like 60 shots when I realized I only had like 15 left... what a waste. 4 gb card :[
Woah what? My 4gb card fits about 300 RAW shots. What megapixels are you shooting at?
Woah what? My 4gb card fits about 300 RAW shots. What megapixels are you shooting at?
I think I had some stuff already on it, but it couldn't have been much. The t2i is 18MP so I don't know what that calculates too.
I think I had some stuff already on it, but it couldn't have been much. The t2i is 18MP so I don't know what that calculates too.
60 RAW shots on the T2i ~= 1.4GB
60 RAW shots on the T2i ~= 1.4GB
And like I said I had some shit on it already. I got the card for like $30 :\ Going to start buying them online.
I remember when a 1 gig SD card cost $40, and a 2 gig memory stick was $60 now they're being tossed around like candy at a parade
I remember when a 1 gig SD card cost $40, and a 2 gig memory stick was $60 now they're being tossed around like candy at a parade
That's a real "back in my day moment" there.

I can't for the life of me ever find things to photograph. Ugh...demotivated
As counter intuitive as it sounds, find a clever picture you like and just flat out steal the idea. be completely unoriginal with it. Look up tutorials if you have to. You don't even have to upload it. You'll naturally put your own spin on it. Even if you don't get good results I guarantee you'll learn something. It should be a good little exercise to get you going.

I remember my dad gave me a 256mb flash drive because I'd filled my 128mb... it was an amazing moment.
My first digital camera ever: It'd let you take like 10 pictures, and then it'd stop.
Bought it after an SD card was given to me. I then wanted one of these beasts:
I've been thinking about making a Timelapse, the problem is that I have a Nikon D40, and it doesn't come with a built in Intervalometer. So If I were going to make a timelapse of, lets say the night sky, how long should I take pictures? I also only have 1 battery, and a 1GB SD card. Is it even possible?

I'm making aw timelapse right now with EOS utility
Where do you live? can you travel far? I'm slowly running out of things to travel near me so its pushing me to get in the car and maybe take the bike as well
I live in a very beautiful place but the weather is cold and the snow limits where I can go to an extent.

Also for timelapses check this out http://lookycreative.com/lang/en/know-how/timelapse-compendium/introduction While I'm here, I might as well post a couple of timelapses I done on my old camera of us in uni. My mate was on a mission to ruin them, but ultimately made them 10x more interesting, check it out :D [editline]15th February 2011[/editline]
Did I HDR right?
Try it using the 3 middle exposures instead of all 5. The bottom looks a little "white out" ish :/
What would be a good way to swivel a tripod during a time lapse?
Thanks man :) yeah i dropped it the other night out shooting - fell right off the stand onto concrete. the batteries died at the same time so i shat bricks, thinking it was KIA. its perfectly fine though except the reflector card that pulls out snapped off.
I broke my last flash after getting drunk and playing music with my friends on a footpath. I tried to do a handstand, fell forward and flipped and landed on my camera (with the external flash on top) completely breaking the external flash + breaking the top off the on-camera flash on my D80. I still haven't learnt my lesson and drink with my photography gear on me. But hey, I'm always in great situations during those times, so wouldn't get some of the shots I do if I didn't. Also, you know when I said that I only took video of the chinese lantern release - here are some stills from the videos.
