RAW for sports photography = anhero. I went to my cousin's floorball game in Richmond a few weeks ago, ended up shooting in raw for like 60 shots when I realized I only had like 15 left... what a waste. 4 gb card :[
i live in Richmond, hmmm.
i live in Richmond, hmmm.
Richmond, BC. xD I've heard of the Richmond in England before though.

That swan can break your fucking arm!
Roses from my boyfriend, which he gave me yesterday. :3: I made sure to only use Manual on my camera today instead of relying on Auto. I quite like how it came out. :h:
What would be a good way to swivel a tripod during a time lapse?
Slowly... Nah, I done the pan in post by tweening the footage in after effects.
I remember when a 1 gig SD card cost $40, and a 2 gig memory stick was $60 now they're being tossed around like candy at a parade
I remember 128MB Memory Sticks costing $100+
yep that will work
so either my new flash or my flash triggers arrived today, but nobody was in for the package.
Taking a week long trip to my grandparents in Hatfield near Doncaster over half-term, going to spend most of my time doing photography as there is some really amazing scenery around there. Also my dad said I could get some paid work doing some shots of the new studio at his work.

They're freaking aggressive.
so either my new flash or my flash triggers arrived today, but nobody was in for the package.
I hate it when that happens. Few days back they delivered my Pentax but I was still sleeping. I heard the doorbell ring and was a bit confused but then I realized it could be my package. I overdrived myself downstairs with my t-shirt on backwards and got my package. After opening it, I saw my girlfriend come downstairs with a huge 'what the shit' face. Totally worth it.

Nope ;))
God forbid cheap polaroid film existing this day in age right? The old girl has been dry for over a decade.
Has anyone of the Canon guys tried CHDK / MagicLantern in any way?
Yeah CHDK is ridiculously awesome. It's a must-have for anyone that shoots on Canon point-and-shoots. [editline]15th February 2011[/editline] Also content: 6/52
I like the first one, he looks chill as fuck.
I'm starting to love softboxes and high key.
It's really annoying - why isn't there a third party 35mm 1.8 for roughly the same price as the Nikon at least. Surely this is a massive gap in the market for crop sensor DSLRs..
Has anyone of the Canon guys tried CHDK / MagicLantern in any way?

Install Magic Lantern if you get it, it adds so many awesome things - built in intervalometer, focus stacking, focus racking for video, continuous auto focus in video mode that works fairly well(Noisy obviously), improves the live view especially while recording video, focus peeking, and a whole load of other awesome stuff.
It's pretty awesome. The extra ISO steps are great (Why Nikon have this and Canon don't even though the support is there is beyond me), focus peaking is cool, zebras, etc. [editline]15th February 2011[/editline]
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/s8ZP0.jpg[/img_thumb] I'm starting to love softboxes and high key.
Gonna pick up the materials for making a softbox after college tomorrow - what did you use?
Gonna pick up the materials for making a softbox after college tomorrow - what did you use?
2 large softboxes, with Bowens flash units, one from the right and one from above and slightly to the left, I can't recall the flash model at the moment.
Whoops.. confusing softboxes and lightboxes.. well, I'm picking up the materials to make a lightbox tomorrow after college. Need to get some lights too.
I've always wanted to make a beauty dish but always end up needing to go buy something at which point I tell myself to just buy a real one and never do.
I like the first one, he looks chill as fuck.
Heh, same thing I thought when I saw the goat lying there. Absolute favorite shot of the day.
Whenever I take a photo, it always looks alot better in the camera live-view than on my PC. Colors and everything just pop more.
thats because your camera screen sharpens it up for displaying at a small, downsampled size
Went hiking with some friends, couldn't take many pictures due to the massive amounts of rain but I got a few on the summit. I'm not photographer, and these aren't worthy of being called "artistic photography," but I thought they were quite pretty anyway. Arizona is a beautiful place, and it's incredible how much it changes throughout the year: After spending most of my life in flat, ugly, brown Missouri, I can't get over how gorgeous the mountains are.
