The picture above was to test the Brenizer Method with my 50 1.4, I best remove it from flickr cause it's shit.
everyone post your glitchy pics!
I was playing with my camera and I don't know what happened. But it looks strange. This was straight off the camera too. :/

:what:
Wow, I don't know what happened.
I logged into facebook, and saw that there was a few people who had commented a picture of mine. When I clicked the notification my heart just exploded with love. A shitload of my friends all commented about how they loved my work, and how they all noticed how taking pictures had changed me. All those kind words really brought a tear to my eye, I'll tell you that! I know that they're all my friends, so that they're being extra kind, but fuck that.
I just want to thank a lot of you guys for teaching, and inspiring me.
I had the opposite happen!
One of my friends I haven't seen for a long time was commenting on how I like to take up things but never carry them through and continue with them. He was using the example that I bought a camera and never 'take photos'. The truth is I take pictures all the time but I simply don't post them on facebook, because it's truthfully the worst place to get feedback.
I mean seriously, how much can a 'like' and 2 word comment from your friends really tell you about the composition quality of your images. Nothing. I feel this would lure me into a false sense of security and I'd start believing my images were the dogs bollocks. It's when random people can give you decent feedback and you use that feedback to improve to a level where your work impresses a greater number of random people that you know you're doing well.

I agree with the feedback thing. Thats what we got this place to.
And I know that not a lot of my friends are confident enough to tell me what they truly think about my photos. But it's still nice knowing they care for you, and follow your work.
I will buy the Pentax-A 50mm from you.
It's the only one I kept haha.
I have a Pentax-M 50mm as well.
Got a new UV filter as my last one was scratched and dirty beyond repair. My pictures on my digital are much nicer now :D

The seam is off, but you try telling water to stand still.
It may take a thumbnail a while to load, so clicking the link is probably better.
(8MB Photo, I suggest Right Click>Save As unless you like to wait as your browser downloads it in frame.)

They forgot to scan this one, and because scanners are so mainstream, I took a picture of the negative, inverted it in PS and adjusted it to make it look like its partner photo.

Also, I have this film SLR. It was given to me about a year ago I think. Seeing as many of you know quite a bit about cameras, does anyone happen to know what it's worth? It's a Nikon F, but I'm not sure what year it's from.

Do you use Photoshop to edit the picture? If so what filters do you use to get the effects you have on your photos? If not, then what software do you use?
Thanks, and I love your work!

Great photos dude!
On the Nikon F, I wouldn't say it's worth a lot, especially seeing the condition its in. Just buy some film and get out shooting with it. The photos you'll get from it will be worth more than the money you'll get for the camera. On a side note, what lens came with it?

It's some fancy mask doodads. Go on Youtube and find some tutorials for "Photoshop light leaks"
[editline]19th February 2011[/editline]
But really don't, because it's a cheap trick to make your photos "better".

Thanks! I hadn't really planned on selling it, I was just curious. I've got some film in it, but I'm heavily reliant on the light meter and it needs some new batteries, and I don't have much money.
The lens is.... Nikkor-O 35mm f2 I believe.

if it's aesthetically better, it's aesthetically better, it doesn't really matter if it came from the original exposure or was added in in post-processing (unless of course you are a photojournalist, or just a pretentious asshole who insists on not treating photography as an art)
that said, don't excessively whore the effect (or any other effects) because photo hipsterism makes ansel's ghost cry

Oh and my brother wanted to take pictures after I had called it a day, so here we go. (photowall)
My favorite is the first one. I'm experimenting with different styles, so they are a little rough around the edges.

Man autofocus on the 50mm 1.4 has to be sooo nice.
I'm tempted to fork out the money for one, I could just sell the two I have and get one actually.
GREAT SCOTT!!
just for the sake of uploading shit.

your black treatment is way too harsh in my opinion, the shadows in your images are pitch black.
Fixed my link back in my post. Criticism is greatly welcome. Was taken on a point-and-shoot, no SLR today.

What's the question?
Another self portrait.
At my cousin's place in Sydney. My two brothers are there as well.
It's just the light from the television - not posed at all, they didn't know the camera was there.

This is more what I'm talking about, but I still am a bit of a purist when it comes to photography. I think photography is still an art, but it is up to the photographer to rely on more than simply PP to make a good photo. I used to rely too much on PP, and when I look back on my old photos, they all disgust me. I guess that's why I changed, and I think its for the better.

I hear you bud. I always try to get the best that I can straight out of camera, but that doesn't mean I wont try different things in terms of post processing. When I'm out shooting, I'm trying to get the look that I want. I don't sit there taking shit shots telling myself I'll just fix it later. When I'm done and at the PC, I go through and look at what I can do to bring out a certain aesthetic to the shot.
That said, you can wrap a piece of dog shit in foil and put a ribbon on it, but its still a piece of shit.
Ok guys. This one drowned pretty fast. So I'm reposting it.
Any thoughts on this?
