I wish there are mountains near where i live.
Ah, just spent 3 hours driving around with absolutely nothing to photograph. I hate Pennsylvania. Trees...Trees everywhere.
Come to NOVA. We have a city 10 minutes East, farmland 20 minutes south, woods, hills and creeks everywhere, and mountains 30 minutes to the west. And here I am with ~1 hour of free time per day and no car. Actually I'm just lazy and hate the cold but thats my excuse for not taking pictures :v: Also I was hoping to be able to shoot for the spring sports teams, (un?) fortunately I made the baseball team.
I'm about a half an hour from everything in California. Beaches too the west, Desert too the east, Mountains too the north. [editline]23rd February 2011[/editline] Oh, and theres mexico too...
i am far west in California, in the redwood trees!
I am also in California. Sacramento actually. It's kind of ok I guess.
Well woopdee-fuckin'-doo...I go to take a photo today and, to my surprise, discover that my lens decided to commit suicide sometime between yesterday and today. There seems to be a gear stuck and it won't manual focus to a certain extent, and won't auto focus at all. It pisses me off because I've only owned the thing for like 2 weeks, are they really build this weak? I've done nothing to the lens to harm it at all, I have no fucking idea how this happened. Any suggestions? Should I go for a new lens, try to fix the current one, etc.?
What kind of lens is it? And since you only owned it for 2 weeks isn't it still under warranty? My lens is built quite well and i haven't had any problems with it. And here i try to do macro shots again How do i make it better? How it attempted to do it. Guess what band is on the poster to the left :v: I cringed at this http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/18200/18200-drop-test.htm :byodood:
I assume you're aiming for a clean product photography style first you need to stop down your lens, macro/product photography should rarely have that kind of narrow DOF since the focus is on the object as a whole diffuse the light (more than just the stock diffuser cap) from above instead of shooting straight on, to get rid of the harsh angled shadows you could put a piece of glass if you have one handy underneath the object too I guess, for those fancy reflections
What flashgun are you using gaboer? I agree with mrcsb points, and a glass would make for some nice experimentation. Its now 4:23am and I want to get some dusk photographs of an old Castle in my town if the weather isn't horrible, otherwise I'm going to sleep for a day.
I have an sb-800 speedlight
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/UJqj9.jpg[/img_thumb]
Took me a second to figure out what was going on at the bottom. :v:

A few weeks later I got it back, and it was 100% working again.
CC is finally at the top woo. Hopefully going out to take some photos today while I'm at my grandparents.
Oh my, I almost flipped shit when I looked to the bottom of the page and CC wasn't there...
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/wvvrb.jpg[/img_thumb] I don't know, kinda messing with photoshoop. [editline]23rd February 2011[/editline] lol [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/UJqj9.jpg[/img_thumb]
This is Arthur's Seat near Edinburgh, isn't it? I've been there a week ago with some friends of mine.

Yes, we have.
Sorry if this is late, but I see we've been moved?
I think Garry wasn't happy about something Hezzy did to the forum. Garry deleted the drugs, gay and lifestyle thread. People been complaining and now he popped them up again, but moved things around... I guess..

I've dropped two of my lenses multiple times, lucky for me I had UV filters on both. Both remain unscathed apart from scratches on the plastic/metal :) my friend dropped her camera, no UV filter attached, lens instantly wrecked. I'm amazed how one filter can make such a difference... I wish they made lenses like they did for this bad-boy: Pretty much everything is metal, and thick metal too. I've got one of the lenses from a Zenit camera and it comes out with nice vintage-looking portraits :) and I can drop it out of second-story windows and stuff and it remains unscathed, I shit you not.

best one is the dude on the rail
I was 100% sure you would like that one
As homework we were given two clothespins, and told to meat up tomorrow with just one photo. The photo can be of anything, as long as the clothespins are visible. Should I use some of these, or have you guys got some other clever ideas ? :)

The shark one is the best. By far. [editline]24th February 2011[/editline] The tones are amazing!
