Since the subject is not moving it would probably be easier to just use a long-exposure near a evenly lit light source.
Dayton Ohio, also you're about 20 posts early :)
Fuck, I had like 5 hours of sleep last night so I'm not thinking right. Here's some old stuff since I haven't had an opportunity to go out recently. It's frustrating only having a 10.2" screen to work with. When I edit photos, I can basically only see a thumbnail of the image, and hope that it comes out ok. Or I can zoom in to a tiny part of the photo. Makes it difficult to have a consistent style. Got some great shots tonight, its A LOT of trial and error to focus manually at night. We were at a partly abandoned mental hospital and closer to summer we're going to break into the abandoned wing and get some creepy as fuck shots. My friend said he saw a face when playing football near it one night. FUN

Remember HDR is just used to get more consistent lighting with large contrasts in bright light and deep shadows.
at least put in a little more effort than a black scribble on the license plate. most people use the blur tool or something, the more creative insert different letters/numbers.
Yeah, i should have done better, it was quick since i noticed it after i posted.
I like to go through this thread just to look at the pictures. It makes me feel more connected with the world and everything going on in it- especially with the nature photos and photos of people. So, thanks everyone. :3:
I'm not a big fan of HDR. I don't like the finished look of it.
I'm not a big fan of HDR. I don't like the finished look of it.
I only like it if it's subtle, unlike the picture a few posts up.
I google image'd HDR expecting to see some atleast decent examples - all of it is shit. I've never seen it done in a way that actually looks good.
Let me see if I can dig something up. [editline]4th March 2011[/editline] Fuck this. [editline]4th March 2011[/editline] Well, scotchair's HDR of the bridge is nice.
Took this tonight.
Took this tonight. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/ViCQl.jpg[/img_thumb]
Would look nicer IMO without the blue pole. Ik there's no way to remove it though (or nothing easy). Still a very nice shot, I have no fucking idea how tired I am because I looked at it 3 times before I noticed that was actually a light, not the moon... Didn't even notice the blue pole up to that point. Edit: oh damn it, pageking on a mobile post; 5 minutes later and I'll have loaded my Flickr. Here's a shot: Haven't had much content lately; I'd love to just drive into Vancouver and take some street shots but well, I'm 14. A few more years until that happens I guess. That's what's kinda demotivating me is that it's hard to find stuff in the small repetitively-placed neighbourhood I live in. I live with a ravine behind my house and a park/forest across the street in front. Ive been in the park many times but haven't found much to shoot (saw some coyotes a month ago; killed myself for not having my camera). Anyways, I will probably end up venturing down the ravine this weekend, though it is rather steep. C&C on above shot and feel free to give me more C&C on any of my latest shots on Flickr.

Just gonna keep it to relatively long intervals I think, for sun shadows etc, and use my point n shoot for cloud movements/people/traffic. Stay tuned.
If you're going to use flash(es), do a multiple exposure stack/merge photo. Otherwise, just completely forget about the flash. find an area with no illumination, or even illumination (by even, I mean that all sides of the car is being lit equally) and set the WB to as neutral as possible. This will get you better results.
know any guides for the photoshop part?
