From the same day I took this:

I need to work on night photography a lot more. For me every shoot is trial and error so I don't go home with one shot I think is right, to only find out its out of focus a tad. Some of these are a bit iffy, used some noise reduction and tweaked the colours a bit. Any tips on night shooting would be nice. I did use a tripod/platform for quite a few. The 1.8 isn't quite so fast in most lights to shoot handheld, or maybe I'm shaking stevens.

nice.
oh bring a laser pointer for focus assist - there might be enough light for a good exposure, but not enough to focus.
I actually tried using a really bright torch to add light to him but it was difficult to hold it and focus at the same time. Laser pointers are tiny in comparison so it should work well and get me nicer focus, cheers for the tip!

G UNIT!
A good reason to go on Facebook at last. The amount of people getting "fraped" and liking retarded groups keeps me off it less I need to contact someone.
There was a picture here a while ago of somebody who took a picture of their face and was "painting color" onto it. Can I get that reposted because I want to show somebody. I want to try it out for myself.

[editline]4th March 2011[/editline]
i didn't make it btw
Gonna try another cool self portrait this weekend I reckon... need to top the face painting one but I'm still thinking. Glad you guys like it though, I appreciate it.
Would look nicer IMO without the blue pole. Ik there's no way to remove it though (or nothing easy).
Still a very nice shot, I have no fucking idea how tired I am because I looked at it 3 times before I noticed that was actually a light, not the moon... Didn't even notice the blue pole up to that point.
Edit: oh damn it, pageking on a mobile post; 5 minutes later and I'll have loaded my Flickr.
Here's a shot:

Haven't had much content lately; I'd love to just drive into Vancouver and take some street shots but well, I'm 14. A few more years until that happens I guess. That's what's kinda demotivating me is that it's hard to find stuff in the small repetitively-placed neighbourhood I live in.
I live with a ravine behind my house and a park/forest across the street in front. Ive been in the park many times but haven't found much to shoot (saw some coyotes a month ago; killed myself for not having my camera). Anyways, I will probably end up venturing down the ravine this weekend, though it is rather steep.
C&C on above shot and feel free to give me more C&C on any of my latest shots on Flickr.
Very nice tones, good focus. I like the way the subject and background blend together.

There is some great stuff shoot here if you go looking for it. Such perfect mesh of nature and modernity.

Took this a while ago, I was experimenting with shapes and lines. The DoF isn't as deep (is that the right term?) as I'd like it to be, but there isn't much I can do to it now seeing as the place I took the shot is no longer accessible by me to do a re-shoot.

Yeah deep DOF means more in focus.
How hard is it though to find another roof with shingles?

I agree, but like I said I don't have a car so usually I can only go places on weekends; and with the assistance of someone with a car which would probably be my dad.
I'd love to hike Seymour and get some shots from the peak (and around) but I doubt that's open in the Winter especially with the huge dumps of snow they just got.

I guess the HDR is still way overdone, since i edited the already hdr'd (is that how you say it?) photo

Perfectly fine :)
interesting shots btw, looks like a neat place
It's fine, and I really like those photos.
Ok, good! haha it feels weird when i think about just joining a conversation randomly. And thanks:] I took those when I was in Monterey last weekend. I visited the Carmelo Mission in Carmel, which is close to Monterey
