Pick, love that one of your grandparents... you get such a feeling of personality through the photograph.
Another from Wednesday, man she made my life easy in the reflection of the window by jhaslehurst, on Flickr
Damn, I'd love a 30mm 1.4 Great shot by the way. I love those old Australian shopping arcades. Unlike anywhere else I know, they certainly have a distinct style. Cool and breezy, federation tiles and cast iron. Lovely.
I think there needs to be more of a gradient between blurred and non-blurred.
yeah, study some photos taken with actual tilt lenses and you should be able to mimic it well fairly easily

ive been looking at the Nikon D3100. is that a good choice? [editline]10th March 2011[/editline]
http://www.facepunch.com/threads/888650-the-quot-Which-camera-is-right-for-me-quot-Megathread
ok sorry.
Experimenting with shilloutee/bokeh.
:siren:
effective immediately, a "Look but do not touch" clause is now in effect.
:siren:
In all honesty I don't think it's a bad photo even though it's over processed. I think it could work there if it was just toned down a bit. Otherwise it's a fine photo.
ive been looking at the Nikon D3100. is that a good choice
Pentax K-X. I regret buying a D3100 because of the retarded lens compatibility. Or get another 200 bucks and get a Canon T2i/550D or the Sony equivalent.
The a33 is pretty cool if you don't mind the EVF and stupid hot shoe.

The silhouette is really nice and the bokeh is kinda neat, only thing that bugs me is the blur on the trees
whats the problem with the lens compatibility? the nikon has more megapixels.
Megapixels are worth jackshit unless you're gonna do any big prints. Don't use that as a factor to decide which camera to buy. There's a lot of lenses that won't autofocus, or not even meter if you mount them. I'm not even talking about 30 year old lenses; there's a whole chart on Nikon lens compatibility even with modern ones. Now don't get me wrong Nikon does good stuff but their entry level stuff is miles behind Canon/Pentax/Sony/Olympus [editline]10th March 2011[/editline] Eh... There's little to do if you've already decided to buy it. Enjoy it and learn its limitations.

Man, I really want to know how do you guys get such awesome tonings in your picture making it a huge difference from the one taken and after being processed
I just followed a bunch of examples/tutorials and mixed and matched depending on my liking.
I can't wait to post the pictures I took! Seagulls attacked my friend, my sandwich and I, so I got closeups.
The Canon 1000D is a great beginner DSLR... fantatic value for money, I managed to get a hold of a like new 450D for the same price as a 1000D though so look around... best part is Canon lenses fit any canon camera, so when you upgrade you dont have to worry about lenses not fitting. Also, this has become the only thread I bother with on FP, I really appreciate you guys... keep being awesome.
best part is Canon lenses fit any canon camera, so when you upgrade you dont have to worry about lenses not fitting.
what if you upgrade to a full-frame, do EF-S fit on those
I wish I could provide evidence as to how amazing pentax works at high ISO. they aren't.
i took pictures today pics
The first, the third and the fifth one are gorgeous. These photos are my favourite type of photos, as they show the warmth of imperfection :)
My bad, sorry lads...
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/cXpSc.jpg[/img_thumb] It's snowing again ugh... CC please
Sort the white balance+exposure out/rule of thirds.
It's not white balance, it's under exposed. Cameras always under expose white stuff.
