Do you support the Troops? - General

No, I do not [B]actively[/B] support the troups. Well. I technically support them by feeding the economy, and, when I grow up, I'll pay taxes like everyone does, which will contribute to helping my country in general and that also happens to include the military. I won't feel bad for helping the military, I guess. Well, they do get involved into wars in which France has absolutely no business, but as you guys said I have nothing against the troups, as in the guys who hold the guns and stuff. Although war in Libya was none of our business, we did make it through [B]without a single casualty,[/B] and that's remarkable, since I for one don't fancy the death of fellow frenchmen, troups or not. Now since this thread seems pretty america-centered, I'll go ahead and say I do not support the american troops. I think the way they accomplish their tasks, especially that part where they decided on their own to burn the Kuran is unethical if not simply idiotic. Not to mention, quite a lot of shenanigans seem to happen involving these troops which I wouldn't approve, but I'm not from the US so I don't really have to care. TL;DR: I guess they kind of do their job but I don't love the troups.

My cousin is in the Army as an APC driver, so i'd be lying if I said I didn't support our military.

The entire military did not get together and say "gee, lets burn this Qur'an." Also, remember that the US military always has the international eye on everything they do. When an isolated thing like that happens, the media always blows it up to huge proportions.

You think the French did not execute and defile any German POW's in WWII?

Implying that all American soldiers are Qur'an burning cowboys who don't give a fuck. Believe it or not, the majority, morally righteous people in the American military believe in their mission and it's objectives are for the good. You honestly don't think those soldiers that are responsible for any acts of indecency aren't reprimanded? There's so much that can get you booted out in a heart beat it's not even funny. But I can't possibly expect a foreign [i]adolescent[/i] to truly understand the workings of an organization whose only understandings come from biased, bullshit youtube videos. That would require you accepting your already preconceived notions as wrong. God forbid. I support the troops. I come from a bit of a military lineage so I respect what my family has done in their service time and I'm a day away from starting my own. The benefits alone are worth it. There are tangibles and intangibles that come with military service. Each being different depending on the individual.
