If you where going anywhere near C then the friction with the air would cause extreme heat and melt a hole through the wall. All this atomic displacement is pointless.
Obviously quantum physics still requires more research before we can take it for granted as fact, but we can say with reasonable certainty that through quantum tunneling, it is possible to do this. I don't see how it's outside of my rights to tell people that it's possible, given this. If you're going to go into the semantics of "YOU DON'T KNOW IT'S FACt!!!" then the discussion is about to go very offtopic when I bring out Descarte's evil daemon.
You're perfectly right about the quantum physics behind walking through walls, but I think you're giving the loony kid the OP describes too much leeway. We're talking about a kid who is essentially saying he can undergo quantum tunnelling at will, he should be taken care of by nice young men in clean white coats, not encouraged to run into walls for all eternity on the off chance the universe has a brain fart and lets him through.
I do it all the time. It's called a door.
its possible but i like 1 in 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
