I thought about it for months, and then I saw a cheap refurb opportunity and took it. But I haven't had any problems with it. Maybe you are expecting too much.

I've also been experimenting with some generic bokeh stuff on my digital camera, but I won't bother posting that because I'm sure there's enough generic shitty bokeh around for everyone.

I've only got a 18-55mm kit lens and am wanting to get another one, what is a good first lens to get? I just want an all rounder sorta thing. I was thinking of getting a 50mm 1.8.

If you want a good all-rounder then a 17-50 f/2.8 would be good, or a 24-70 if you can stretch your budget.

The 50mm 1.8 is a great lens for the price. Stop it down to f/2.8 and it is really sharp. If you can stretch to it look at the 50mm 1.4, faster focusing and better quality glass.

The best thing to do is go to a camera shop and try a bunch of lenses.

This is my first DSLR (as opposed to film) so I might have gone a little overboard with the editing, but I swear to you the grass in the one with the fountain was really that green and the water was really that blue.

Although I do wish I hadn't closed the aperture a little bit, I accidentally messed up the bokeh orbs and i couldn't focus well on the branch because it was windy.
