You're just too awesome for them, Cueball
So everything was really brightly colored today because where the sun was the clouds were thin, but the entire rest of the sky was pitch black and there was a thunderstorm.
It looked surreal even just standing there.
But by the time I get home to my camera it passed and now it's just light overcast...
We're pretty tolerant in here. 'Hipsters' are okay, but we draw the line at over-the-top processing. You don't have to prove yourself or your associates. That said, I recognize that those photos aren't representative of your girlfriend.
Also, one of the many skills in photography is working with what you have. That includes locations. First you start saying there isn't anywhere to take pictures, then your lens isn't good enough, then it's your camera, then it's your subject, then its the weather, etc. It's an excuse trap for putting off 'getting better.' It builds character if you go out of your way to find 'hidden beauty' in your surroundings. And I don't mean taking a picture of a rusty mailbox at a crazy angle, I'm talking about presenting your scenery in a flattering way.

From the link you posted
To me that just looks like a really badly printed picture, like something I'd do when I was younger and barely even understood how printing worked.
I don't see the appeal.
I wanna try some B&W shooting. I have all this B&W film laying around, might as well...

The clouds are also fake. The skyline was a bit lacking that day. Also, I prefer your color version.

What's the best website for creating good quality portfolios? I like the dark, slideshow look, yet simplistic. I was looking at SmugMug, but it's just expensive.
Dammit, I wish I had mountainous regions around here.

The DoF looks really weird in the first one. I wouldn't be surprised if it was photoshopped in.
The second one looks okay, but I don't like the tilted horizon. The cloud (and what I presume are stars) on the right also looks photoshopped.

I think I've seen this before, but maybe it was just on your Flickr. I like it.
A shot from Berlin on the S-Bahn - I set my camera to B&W for the majority of the trip. Apart from a crop (on the camera) it's straight off the camera. I'll upload the original at some point.
I like the 1x1 format. Need to get my yashica fixed.

Yes! Got an interview at a photography studio that does things like senior portraits, student portraits, sports photography, portrait photography and the like. This will be great practice :D
There is another girl in my yearbook class who got the job as well (and she's the photographer for their 'elite' package) and she took absolutely zero pictures for the yearbook this year and has no clue how to use a camera. So I think I have a good chance at getting this job, seeing as she got a job as a photographer. I think all of their settings have a chart for what to set the camera to, but I personally don't care. It's 100 times better than scanning groceries day in day out.
Super stoked!
Who needs a $150 camera backpack when you got an $8 dollar backpack and some cardboard lying around?
