Just found out my dad has 2 or 3 Hasselblad's (not the new kind, but the old ones) and some 35mm film he's had in the fridge for lord knows how long. Maybe I'll finally get to experiment with film! He also had a Nikon F3 I believe laying around here somewhere with multiple lenses and a bellows for it. Awesome!
I'm stoked to try my hand at shooting film! Plus he's gonna try to buy back his old darkroom stuff from my cousin (she bought it and never uses it). Hopefully this Summer I'll have a chance to shoot film!
Can you go to your dad and be like
hey
my friend double d has aids so his dying wish is to own a Hasselblad
and then your dad could give me one
thanks
Gonna go for a walk out to the eastern caves today with a friend

Just finished building my own umbrella reflector for my flash. Waiting for the sun to go down and then I'm going to shoot. It's great because I haven't touched my camera for a looong time!
YAY!
Glad that you're back, sømand.
Thanks man!
In 9th grade I tried to take a picture of myself every day but I gave up out of lazyness.
I kinda want to start again but it actually took a good amount more time and space than you'd think.

Screwing around with my new DIY umbrella-reflector. It's great to start thinking with lights in a total different way. I'm really looking forward to get better to this.
What do you guys think?

The way I shook my uninspiration spell was by looking at a lot of people's photos and trying to take the exact same picture (in this case I used laitrCole)
it really helped out a lot in all honesty

I've given that exact advice before haha. It works, but this seems to run deeper than that. It's getting to the point where I'm second guessing myself about even pursuing photog.
Enough whining, I'll just wait it out for now.
Or you just go out and try something new. It's like when I play guitar and have creative blocks I change genre, instead of always metal, i go to blues and then jazz and then funk and so on.
Maybe you should just try taking photos of different things? Try landscapes for example, extreme angle, etc. There are so many possibilities out there.
I was so uninspired with guitar playing after about 2 years.
Then I got drums and sold my guitar, and it's been a few years and I still love to play the drums.
Maybe just try a different style or doing something differently?
Hey everyone! First time posting in the Photography section and publicly uploading photos, kind of exciting. I'm currently approaching the end of my second semester in a photography course, and I recently bought a DSLR so I can continue the hobby even after the course is over. Here are a few shots I've taken with it since. I've been trying to work on composition; let me know what you guys think

I think you should try doing landscapes instead of your typical portraits (which are amazing, but if you are feeling uninspired you should try something else).
went for a Hike today, the sky/sun kept screwing all my pictures up.

Hey bopie,
I tried to look through your photostream to get an example of a shot I wanted to talk about.
I think it was of your friend standing outside a car window or something?
I remember you saying you weren't too happy with the shot, but that he was really pleased with it.
I think maybe that could be a path to follow for the time being. Shooting the people in your life really gives your photography a nice purpose. Especially in candid situations like that.
You obviously have an adept knowledge of exposure, composition etc.
You could use your camera in a different way. Shoot on the go. Don't take your tripod etc.
I know to some people it sounds like blasphemy, but set it to Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority once in a while. It's nice to have the 'freedom'; and you'll still have controls with the EV so can judge the exposure to suit your needs.
And through that, you'll be shooting in a different way. When you take a photograph, you won't be going through the same process - following the same set-up and order. It'll feel new and hopefully exciting.
Just had my 3rd exam. All about extinction, speciation etc.
All really interesting, but there was no order to the module. I found myself jumping back and forth between different topics. Anyway off into town to pick up a roll of film :D
I'm a little stoned right now (smoked a jay an hour or so ago after the test), so sorry if that didn't make as much sense as it did in my mind.
