Made another timelapse, 1200 images, 51 seconds, 8,5gb :byodood:
gonna change it to 1280x720, no wait, that makes it 3gb.
How the hell do people upload timelapses on youtube? They're fucking huge!
-snip-
meh, ill just post this. had it in the back of my mind for a few days, not too sure how it turned out
By the time I get back on my computer tomorrow to do a Mirror's Edge Photoshop it'll be too late.
Wonderful pictures nonetheless. :) Always cool to see your stuff. Iceland looks like it has such exhilarating landforms.
Thanks mate I really appreciate it. All of the pics you see are in my fjord, I try to bring as much variety as I can to my photography.
I'll be heading to the city on the first of june so there should be some good shots out of that aswell.

Try for some more contrast, seems a tad bit flat at the moment otherwise I like it

Both disturbing and artistic at the same time.
Dististic.

Nice, but try setting the exposure manually and the white balance manually, to stop the flickering.
Nice, but try setting the exposure manually and the white balance manually, to stop the flickering.
I put the White balance to the sun icon, and I kept the same exposure and aperture. I have no idea why it still flickered.
The only flickering I see is when the sun goes behind a cloud. Nice job :D
That's an impressive time lapse. You could add some music, movies are bland without sound.

Been thinking about that aswell. Any suggestions are welcome.

Love Theme from Cinema Paradiso by Ennio Morricone. So romantic.

I've added a song, but what should I put in the video description so it doesn't get taken down or something?
"I own no rights to this song what so ever"?

Not gonna help at all. That's not how copyright works.
Just hope for the best I guess. Most of the time it's only blocked in a few countries, or they show an ad next to your video.

You don't really have to put anything. Sometimes you get unlucky with record companies finding it and flagging it, but other than that not much will happen. A quick note of the artist and title in the video's description will suffice (for viewer's convenience, won't affect copyright).
I've watched and even uploaded plenty of videos with 'infringing' musical content.
I'll just go for it. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst.

Here is the updated one with the music

Enjoy.
I have a question, how the hell does this guy get such awesome lighting? I know he uses his camera flash, but I've never experimented with one before. We have one here at my house, but these are damn amazing.
It won't let me post his images, but here are links to his Flickr account with two pics I'm talking about.

I just really like the technique because I'm pretty certain he took them in the day time (or evening), yet they look like night. However, I really like his stuff. He describes what flash he used and at what power. I'm just a total noob to external / hotshoe flashes.
I know nothing about how to use a flash - but maybe it is a fast shutter speed alongside flash and a moderate aperture?
Cueball, that was pretty successful I'd say. Although, I really think timelapses lose their charm on their own, you should keep them to yourself and then make one long video of different timelapses to spice it up.

looks like he's using a larger flash, or at least has a strobe kit with a softbox or umbrella. The flash is high-powered so that, in under-exposing the outside world, it is properly exposed. I hate the technique, it's so overpoweringly unnatural. Still cool and might be fine for 'artsy' shots, but as general portrait sets I'd avoid it like the plague myself. I'll experiment with settings if ya like and come up with an acceptable time of day + shutter vs flash
The only time my dog is ever this focused is when there is food involved.

It's pretty standard "exposing for overpowered strobe through an umbrella." I agree with Dai, its not exactly pretty. It's basically un-balanced fill-flash.
You could probably pull similar results to those shots with a 580exii, but it wouldn't be as easy to manage without real strobes.
[editline]19th May 2011[/editline]
Shame on me. He did in fact use a 580exii, and only at an eighth of full power
:v:
