I'll experiment with settings if ya like and come up with an acceptable time of day + shutter vs flash
Because sync speed is a limiting factor, it's aperture and ISO you use to alter to the exposure. flash power as well. [editline]19th May 2011[/editline] fucking. my automerge.
So I made a tea set and thought why not get some pictures of it before I give it away. Thanks for the info. I don't know though, but I tend to like those shots. Probably not for every picture, but just as something different for some variety. Personally, I think the guy uses the technique too much, but I do like the effect it gives on some of his pictures. We have strobes and umbrellas here at the house, just never used them. My dad has all kinds of studio and lighting equipment.
After my tyre punctured in the distance of the photo, my friends could only travel with me a short while until they had to go home. I had become a bit disorientated in the heat and after pushing my bike for so long, and asked this lady for directions. I had completely lost my way but she sent me in the right direction and let me take a photo of her and her horse. Or moving in closer. She seems a little engulfed by the background. It's still a nice photo though.
I think it would be cool to get a shot with a wide angle lens in portrait position of the horses head and then her face with like a dusky sky in the background with lots of purple and orange as well as some clouds. Almost like a cold tone, so it looks kind of dramatic.
what you on about, i never made no timelapse
I'm a fanny... I thought it was you, but it was booster. Soz.
Finally got my license so I can go drive around to some scenic spots now. I really want to do a photoshoot with my girlfriend at some point. Maybe during the summer. The clouds were looking pretty sexy yesterday so I took a few shots. What do you guys think of the composition? It's really too dark to see any detail whatsoever so it doesn't add anything to your photo. Next time you can try to make an HDR photo to get all of the parts in your photo properly exposed.

Not sure you copied those correctly B-hazard :v: Go to the file, right click it -> Dropbox -> Copy public link

That photo is just one photo, I thought HDR was all about taking multiple exposures and mixing them together in post processing in order to achieve detail over the whole lighting range?
I actually added extra blackness on the bottom so that I could 'obey rule of thirds' with the reflection and the top of the clouds
You don't have to follow composition techniques like this. They can be a guide, but it becomes uncreative if you always make sure it completely follows the "rules".

And you shouldn't live by the rule of thirds. It's just a guideline. There's an important rule for film(and also for photography): If a shot/scene doesn't add anything, leave it out. No matter how beautiful the shot or scene was, if it slows the movie down or just doesn't add anything then it is best to leave it out. Same goes for your picture. The black doesn't add anything. It's just there, filling your frame.
Taken yesterday. Any way I should edit it?
ducks in a neat line
That would be so very cool without the sky on top, it's distracting. also @above I think you should try to crop out the green on the right side - it's good for nothing and a narrow picture emphasizes the vertical shape of the main object. That's no rule, that's my personal 3 cents.
So I retook that picture with the ugly dude in the middle, removed the dude and straightened it up a bit. Unfortunately, the clouds weren't even close to as awesome as that other day. Took a couple more as well: Not too happy with this, looks like some of the first crap I spewed out, but I got pretty close to the bird which I thought was a bit cool. Not even sure about this. What do you guys think?
