Kinda upset with this one, cut off her hand and legs. People in the audience kept getting in the way, this was the best of like 20 shots :/

Quick question: Are there any real downsides to vibration reduction (IS)? Should it be kept off when not needed, or does it not really make any difference other than perhaps a tiny hit to battery life? I know you're supposed to turn it off when using a tripod, but say I'm just walking around taking some well-lit shots at 1/250 and I've got a steady hand: should I turn it off?

For long telephoto lenses you'll probably want it on all of the time.

I don't want so sound like a dick, but why is EXIF important to some people? It's completely useless. I can see how it's cool to see the data for kicks, but you can't use it for anything. EVERYTHING depends on the light, and light is never the same. It's just because I've seen people going nuts because I wouldn't show them EXIF data for my pics, and I'm like "what the fuck are you gonna do with it?". It's useless really.
What do you think about it? Also, a cookie for whoever find out what is it and what the reflective surface is!
it's interesting to look at because I have no idea what it is.
I don't really like it, but I can't put my finger on why.

It's far from useless.

I love looking at EXIF data.

First of all, it's like saying there's a right way to exposure a picture, and I better do it like that guy. Second of all, again; lighting. It's the only thing that matters when taking a photo, and light is inconsistent as hell.
I disagree, It came in very handy when I started looking into star trail photography... seeing the ideal aperture, shutter and ISO combinations were very helpful.

Well, the right answer was blood on a hard disk plate! just for comparison-the dirty lines all over the picture is part of my fingerprint. And another submission

It doesn't need to be perfectly level, but the way it is right now makes me feel as if the entire planet is falling over.

I went on a long bike ride today with friends and went through an awesome forest at the end, but my friends couldn't be bothered to stop for me to take pictures :smith:
