Not much better, but I don't know much.
Looks much better IMO. It's better compositionaly, not to mention looks sharper and cleaner.
Quickly threw a dash of bopification on it. Might be a lil heavy.

Mess around with some gentle post-processing and see what you can get.
I always like how you manage to get the colors out of it. Do you have any general tips as far as post goes? I'm sure you've been asked before.

Since I reposted this, I decided to revisit it quickly.
I made 2 new variants and can't decide whether I like the cooler or warmer variant.

I feel that this one particular edit makes the colour of the hair just a tad too washed out. I like what this edit did to the background but I don't know how I feel about what it did to the subject. Just my two cents.
Foolin around with a few older pics
Ahh please tell me how you bopiefy.
compare photos, look carefully for subtle changes.
"bopiefy" in reference to some image bopie posted earlier would mean he added a white opaque layer in photoshop, or atleast pushed "lightness" in the contrast adjustments layer. it also looks like he decreased saturation in some parts like the background, the leaves aren't so deep green.
if necessary you could save those few changes as an action within photoshop and just click to add these adjustments to whatever photo.
I don't know. I gotta stop taking pictures of only flowers in my backyard. I can't wait for school to end.

Considering getting this 50mm f/1.8 before I head down to the south o' france, good idea? I currently have a 18-55 stock non-stabilised, and a 70-300. Body is a 350D.
I don't regret buying my 50mm f/1.8 at all. I just wished that the auto focus worked with my body.

I would have tried to get more DOF.
I took this quick shot during a roadtrip.

I also took a similar shot at the same time with my FM2n but I have yet to get that roll processed.
I think you should get rid of those rocks in the foreground. They are just black shapes and my eyes go immediately to the rocks instead of the other areas. They are a bit distracting

It's a great lens for the money so yeah I think it's a good idea. It is a bit narrow though on your crop sensor body.
Okay, let me go out and move them.
I just wanted something to post on here. Hopefully, my film camera (of which I was using my main) has a better shot. With it, I took it near the water and on one slide I did a 1 second exposure. The other was probably 5 to 10 minutes. I seriously hope the latter isn't over exposed. I don't know how to do those long exposures correctly and shot it with a wide aperture.
[editline]24th May 2011[/editline]
Wide aperture being about 3.5, I should have shot at 16.
if you were using actual slide film, you're fucked. If you were using negative film, you should be fine, negative film has the latitude of gods.
Once again, I've gone to sleep, woken up just as a new thread was being created.
Have a photo. It's from my first photobucket, which has resized and raped the quality, but I still think it's a nice moment. It's the frontman from Razorlight - I don't think I've posted it before...

I feel I should probably say a little about the photos context. It was at a climate change march in London and there was a mini-festival afterwards. During the march a random guy came up to me and gave me a fluorescent jacket with "Press" written on the back. With my camera + big lens and hood, one of the security guards just assumed I was official and ushered me in behind stage.
Managed to stand at the front and get that shot.
Was cool.
It's really funny when you show up at an event and you have a big lens, hood and battery grip and then everyone just moves out of your way, I had the exact same thing happen to me, except for the 'press' jacket, at a local rock festival. It was awesome!

Taking pictures was piss hard, because he was running around everywhere and I had to look after him and play football with him at the same time.
back at last, I've been hyper busy with physics and socials tests. Also participated in the school's art show, my photos alone raised $150 CAN for japan relief, managed to get back into the darkroom, just got to enlarge the photos.
