Just to get an idea of what kind of things can be applied to make everything look appealing; because honestly I find all of my own shots really bland.

While the concept is generic, you've got great light, composition and focus in this one, you'll go far kid if this is one of your first things with a DSLR :)

Canon lenses are designed to break there so you don't break something more expensive. (Like the mount on the body) Still, ouch.

I said "something more expensive" for a reason. :v: It's much more expensive to replace the body chassis (Which I assume you'd have to do if you break the mount off) than for canon to replace a piece of plastic and some ribbon cable and then screw everything back together.
