the stuff further away looks a bit washed out
That's what makes it, in my opinion.

Otherwise, it's lovely. I like the colours and the view itself. :h:
funny thing is it's really old smelly seaweed the stench is horrible, i promise you, it's not possible to walk onto it without your foot getting sucked in
Well I would have just aimed the camera slightly higher in that case and seen which turned out best. But that sure is dedication putting up with such a smell. :v:
Well I would have just aimed the camera slightly higher in that case and seen which turned out best. But that sure is dedication putting up with such a smell. :v:
It's not so much dedication anymore as it is just being used to it In my town the "money smell" here is melted down fish remains called fiski mjöl which is what we use to lure fish here. It's much worse than seaweed, but nonetheless it smells worse than compost with manure in it
I'm going to italy in 2 weeks and I rase a question: Should I rent a 1.8 lens or should I just stick with my 3.8? I think I might need a 1.8 for cathedrals and night strolls in Venice, but I only have enough money to rent it.
It's worth every penny to own one, renting it is a no-brainer.
Buy one! Best lens investment I've made. It's been the most useful and versatile lens I've ever owned.
Buy one! Best lens investment I've made. Do you think people would donate if I set up a lens donation fund?

ohlook the set of torchwood
(the opera house) [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] well cardiff bay generally. The man who built the motorcycle is based in cardiff and I wanted to show that through the photos I took.
Triumph Thunderbird by Angus R Christie, on Flickr
It's a really cool idea, but I'm losing the bike to the background a bit, it just doesn't stand apart enough to me. Otherwise it's a very good photo and I'm not rating disagree because I think it sucks or anything, it just doesn't present the bike to me first and foremost. EDIT: If you wanted to show where it's from, you could have taken a closer shot where the bike takes up the entire lower frame, yet you can still see the opera house in the background, with it slightly out of focus, so it's more of a subtle nod to the location than a flat out statement.
circumstances such as too many people in the shot, Cardiff bay on a sunny afternoon is very busy. Triumph Thunderbird by Angus R Christie, on Flickr what about that? The light bouncing off the bike stands out in the shadow of the building.
Is that your bike? [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] Nice shot except for the guy to the far right.
No it's this guys http://taimoshancycleworks.com/ he builds/customizes cafe racers. Very good at it aswell.
Yeah, that's a lot better, there is a good amount of contrast between foreground and background, and the angle is more striking as well. Also, it's too bad you didn't notice the guy on the right while you were there so you could have taken another shot, at the very least to mask him out. You could always crop it? Anyways, much better, sweet photo.
So I'm back from my epic 200 mile trek across Scotland... prepare for a thread of epic proportions in a few days time after I sort through the 800 photos.

You seem to have lots of dust on your sensor.
I'm going in two weeks too! Where are you staying?
I'm flying into venice for 3 days, then taking the train to florance for 5 days then staying in rome for 5 days.
Nice! I'll be in Venice one day, and around Lake Garda and other places the rest.
Had a great day urbexing and I don't feel my lungs getting fucked so I must be okay. Going back to explore the rest on Wednesday. Desperate need of a steadicam for video, my tripod helps a bit when carried but not enough.

Not creative at all, but damn, I love taking pictures of my dog sleeping. At first I was about to give you a heart, then I saw those eyes. :ohdear: Nightmare fuel. I like it though, nice and sharp.
Those are her little membranes that cover her eyes while she sleeps. Now that I look at it, it does look pretty scary... [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] I might have to edit that out [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] There we go, 100% less nightmare eyes
