You should try to make the clouds more visible and convert the photo to black and white.
A few people seemed to like my thorpe marsh power station shot, so here it is in 1920x1080 for those who wish to use it as a desktop.

Nothing creative about this image, it's just that I looked outside and the moon was this spectacular yellow color, it was amazing. Here's a picture:

C&C can be as direct as possible. It's been difficult finding a community that doesn't beat around the bush with critiques. :(

The DoF is too narrow, get some more of the grass in focus. You've got good tones and bokeh but the subject is barely there.

The lighting is pretty drab and the yellow-green cast looks a bit sickly. Going B&W is an idea, but I played with it in Lightroom and it really benefits from a stronger contrast curve and cooler tones (I did a subtle split-tone). You could do a slight hue shift on the yellows toward green to make the grass more appealing, too.

Having fun with my 580. I barely use it anymore because I'm obsessed with natural. Thought I'd switch up my routine. I want to figure how to post process some J.J. flare in for kicks.

Super 8 was awesome. Very un-J.J. to show the full monster, though. Guessing that was a Spielberg choice.
No idea what I'm doing.

I like the doll one but don't find the other two all that interesting.
Anyway I'm feeling really accomplished today. Spent 2 hours at the gym, cycled 6 miles, and took some photos I'm satisfied with. Which of these should I use for 2/365, and can I get any CC on how to improve them in PP before I upload them to my Flickr?

You really need a new lens :(
Can't afford one. You could have at least given CC on those specific photos.
[editline]16th June 2011[/editline]
Also what immediately made you say I need a new lens, as it could be due to PP.
Sorry! I didn't mean it in a criticizing or mean way.
The first shot I feel could be lower, lose some of the skyline and gain more of the foliage. I said that as just seeing your shots - usually subject and composition is excellent, but like you see in the second shot, there is a lot of sharpness missing, it's slightly soft and there is a ton of CA. They also seem somewhat washed out.

nice photos, but the animal in the 2nd one looks like a horse with the head of a cow
where did you find it?
It's a cow, and it's at Ham Meadows which is a short cycle ride from my house along the Thames path.
