My batteries are dead. I am migrating back to film after watching this awesome documentary on nat geo photographers, and one of them had my film slr. PRO.

Entirely subjective, but I find that the saturation is a bit over the top here, although I generally prefer editing to be subtle.
I hadn't climbed a crane at 4 in the morning before today, it's usually in the night when it's still dark, but this morning was different - it was almost daylight. It's a strange experience. It's also awesome.

Climb over construction site fence armed with camera and tripod, take photos from top of tall crane.
In some cases you need dog food to distract guard dogs (it works)
I thought people stopped using guard dogs at junk yards and construction sites in the 80's
nevertheless, cool. Don't friggin' die
Finally had time to go for a walk with my camera today. Didn't capture anything amazing but at least I took my camera outside. I would love some CC with these. maybe i can be encouraged to go out to take photos more often.

I barely know anything about photography. My dad came home with a Nikon D5100 yesterday so go easy on me. :v:
Took a picture of one of the lamps in our backyard. The salesman said that they will never rust.

I beg to differ.
All I've got is a pretty crappy compact DSLR :v: hopefully my editing makes it look good enough.

actually i live in northwestern france, this was taken at the Pyrénées, which is at the border between france and spain :p
Super sharp shots. Lovely!
They look over sharpened to me. For example, around the guy's head.

There are railings most of the way round, and there's a platform every 30 feet up the ladder. The furthest you will ever fall is 30 feet unless you're being stupid and climbing onto the railings.
OM-1 meter battery acquired => shit yeah! just need some film now D:
why oh why does it have to be the time when most shops close just now

ever since I discovered sharpen I was pretty amazed at how it made things look better
I think I have a tendency to overdo it though... I'll try go softer on it haha
My parents just ordered me a T2i as a gift, is this a good thing? Or should I be sad that I could have gotten something better? It was $600 with kit lens (18-55 yes?) and all the accessories.
EDIT: Rate optimistic if I'm in the wrong thread.

I would kill for a T2i as I desperately need video, stuck with my 1000d right now.
Anyway was a bit experimental today and took a few low down photos in the rain while it was getting dark, wish I had a wider and faster lens for this, I wanted to take some more of another subject but my cameras battery ran out.
Which of these should I use for my 365 and what can I improve in PP?

The last one definitely, it's the brightest, and has a nice motion blur so you can tell you're moving. It's also much nicer because it doesn't have any other cars in it, which cluttered the first one. The second is a novel idea but I feel like to be as impressive as possible you should have placed the camera farther backwards to give it a more dynamic feel, which probably would be difficult since you took it yourself.

Placed it as a far back as my hand and lens would allow. I'll use the last one then, should I do any more editing to it?
I'm extremely new to photography, so I went out and snapped this picture in my front yard. Is it any good?

At image 1: me too, the subject isn't amazing but the shot is great due to the excellent light.
At image 2: I agree with this, the shot seems like wasted potential. Maybe go back some other time in the future if it's local with a more suited lens?

Well ... It's a leaf and it's blurry. A macro shot, to me, should be crisp and very high in detail. What sort of camera are you using? Though regardless you'd be better off taking pictures of events, landscapes and architecture - something with a bit more bite to it unless you can do the macro shot in great quality.
