I hate how all of the photo section is now starting to do Urbex, whereas I can't do it until my doctor gives me my lung cancer diagnosis (hopefully don't have it and probably won't if I am lucky).

Surely you can go to places which don't have a risk of asbestos?

In the UK it's not as common - we have very strict regulations which require it to be removed from buildings before demolition, so a lot of owners have it removed after the building becomes disused.
It's not used in construction anymore either, so newly built sites or places built after 1975 are usually OK.

Besides, taking a P3 mask will protect you pretty well as long as it's not caked in dust over the floor. Then you just make a swift call to Enviromental Health and get the fuck out of there.
Hope the diagnosis comes out OK though, B-Hazard
Went out on a 90k cycle the other day, carted my camera the entire way and the battery died right after the first picture. Typical.
Luckily it was of a cool abandoned petrol station, went exploring inside... it was pretty neat, I'll probably head back.
