Ah fuck, my 5D2's mini-usb socket is loose and stopped working. No idea how it happened, I thought it was lightroom that was being a dick and not recognizing the camera. Gotta get a CF reader and wait till I go back to the UK in late september to hand it in for warranty.

Canon might refuse to repair it, there is a thread over on dpreview where a guy managed to bend a pin in the CF slot and Canon refused because they said he used excess force. Also, a couple friends of mine insisted I add a watermark, and one of them made me that logo. Do you guys think watermarking is too obnoxious or is it fine?

Unnecessary. Don't use watermarks, they make you look like a snob (not saying you are, but they make you look that way)

I'm not at all worried about that (I'm not that good, haha), but I don't want to hurt their feelings by not using the watermark. What do?

I'd say only use watermarks if you're putting up samples of photos that you are selling as prints online or showing them to someone before they have paid etc.

I think I'll leave it on the photos it's on but disable it for future uploads and hope they aren't offended. Otherwise I think I'll stick with your rule, Uber.
