That's because they're based on MBTs and armoured as such. It's pretty great. Ain't gonna take shit from anyone with a shoulder-launched weapon or IED, as opposed to a Bradley, M113 or BMP. Thing's a over-armoured, under-gunned brick.
Oh I knew about that, but even the Merkava is huge.
Oh I knew about that, but even the Merkava is huge.
Man. Man. Don't get me started on how rad the Merkava is. Seriously.
The merk is one tank that makes you wonder if the Abrams would have a tough time of it, it's just an over armored brick of an mbt
I don't think that has enough guns on top
I don't think that has enough guns on top
Well clearly between the .50 cal and two machine guns they need more dakka so a grenade machine gun on the back of the turret at the very least
Don't forget it's an IFV as well, it has space for six in the back due to its engine placement
Well clearly between the .50 cal and two machine guns they need more dakka so a grenade machine gun on the back of the turret at the very least
dont they also have provisions for a mortar in the turret or am i thinking of something else?
dont they also have provisions for a mortar in the turret or am i thinking of something else?
They do, it's an internal commander operated 60mm mortar Plus these things are currently fielding probably the world's best APS Merkava is probably the best main battle tank in the world right now in terms of how it's proven itself in combat

While America is questioning the moral and ethical implications of creating humanoid robots with AI smart enough to not hit a wall repeatedly and not shoot its own teammates for war, Russia is already on it.
While America is questioning the moral and ethical implications of creating humanoid robots with AI smart enough to not hit a wall repeatedly and not shoot its own teammates for war, Russia is already on it.
The Russian killbot is the modern Commissar: If you don't fight well enough to push through the enemy lines, it will kill you alongside the enemy once it reaches you.
I've never seen a minigun on a CROWS mount before
Have you all forgot russia's newest terminator
Oh great, they stuck a robot on an ATV and made it run a flat figure-eight. Truly, NATO has no counter to this weapon!
So Singapore is getting a new AFV:

Also, capability for closing the hatch on this AFV was apparently significant enough to warrant mention.
I've never seen a minigun on a CROWS mount before
thats just not fair lol [editline]2nd July 2016[/editline] its like the equivalent of 100 afghans firing in one direction
I've just realised that this: Is basically a fully automatic Mosin (because 7,62x54). Which is awesome.

Christ alive. I never thought this day would come. One gun.. TWO 10+ capacity magazines? Someone call Governor Brown. We have a new crisis on our hands.

It's a big armored box of asian love, how could you NOT love it?
Don't understand why we need a new one when we still got this: [t]https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2821/10347718254_52f6a1b45e_b.jpg[/t]
Is that even a 20 mm cannon? That looks like a dinky gun even for an ifv
Is that even a 20 mm cannon? That looks like a dinky gun even for an ifv
The Bradley's main gun is similarly tiny Whats the point in 20-25mm guns anyway? Seems too small to take out anything armoured and seems like overkill for infantry or a truck. Why not go up 30 or 40mm, Warrior 30mm APDS could take out T72's in the Iraq war. Is it to do with range?

Found another homemade dakka channel on Youtube. I have been considering building my own guns once I can verify that 7075 Aluminum can be worked with the methods provided by Clinton Westwood. I figure my first design will be something simple like a 9x19mm weapon like the Blyskawica submachine gun. [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/40/Uprising_defender.jpg[/t] Such a cool little gun used during the Warsaw Uprising.
