If you were to make a single-barrel out of a double-barrel O/U, why would you decide to go with the lower barrel? Only reason I can think of is slightly more in-line recoil, but that hardly matters due to it being single-shot, and it gives the downside of being quite a fair bit further off your sight-axis.
The barrel has been canted/adjusted, I don't know what it's like with a raised rib (I only shoot with the stock rib, not a raised one) but usually the lower barrel is canted up so the difference between top and bottom is minimal.
Though, that being sad, the barrel set is by itself - so yeah, I don't know why they choose bottom over top. There's people with Perazzis (the gun in the image) at my club who have both barrels, but I think they only use them in comps. It's weird.

You'll notice the rib also slopes down as well.

ISIS' attempts at camouflaging their tanks from aircraft
Looks like something out of dark souls
Not the worst attempt I've seen, but certainly the most stupid-looking.
So... Little bit of news from Syria.

Russian Helicopter was shot down by Daesh, and on Aleppo Front, Russian bombers are starting to use some very questionable weapons.

From what I understand, the Russian and Syrian forces are starting to use more cluster incendiary bombs to achieve their goals on the Aleppo front.
Not seeing cluster bombs there, just WP.
This is most likely just stress acting in. Having read a lot of written reports and talked to people that's been in polar bear attacks, sometimes you just get so incredibly scared that you start working the bolt as fast as you can and forget you didn't actually pull the trigger. Might have been what happened here. If he actually had the safety in the middle position he wouldn't have been able to see the sights either.
That whole accident was entirely their own fault as they failed to use proper safety protocols and put up a tripwire flare around the camp. Emerged in Norwegian media after. Believe the leaders got fined for reckless endangerment because of that.
Train as you fight.
Might actually help to have the person handling the rifle go through a simulated bear attack a couple of times, with blanks and a BFA.

I'm gonna be picking me up one of these here soon, very excited, gonna be good to just have something small to hunt with when i go camping or for an easy range day.

what is it exactly, besides being a nice takedown rifle
what is it exactly, besides being a nice takedown rifle
It's a Henry survival rifle aka the AR 7. It can also float in water if the seal between the recoil pad and stock is in good condition. Down side is the system is finicky about ammo and mags. It's not the greatest takedown gun, but it will get the job done. If I wanted a takedown 22, I'd buy a repo semi auto Browning 22 or the Marlin 795 Papoose rifle.

It's definitely not perfect, but i liked it because there wasn't much fuss about it. I feel more like i'm taking it down and storing it in a compact form than stripping my rifle and storing the bits in a pouch.
