I don't know if Cabela's allows that, but i agree. They're more of a smaller franchise, similar to Dick's and the like, rather than a local gun shop, but i suppose it'd be worth it to ask.
Just seems like the screws on the plate connecting the trigger guard to the stock are a little loose and you can feel the plate shift when you close it, so it's not like the wood is broken or cracked and it's wobbling ready to fall apart. And you can handle them, they've got blocks in the way so you can't mess with the triggers, but you can mess with the action.
I guess my main point is if they're solid, reliable guns. I wouldn't waste time asking an employee about it if it's shoddy when i can just ask around, i s'pose, especially when you guys are just giving me an opinion rather than actively trying to sell it to me.
Well then I see no reason not to, as long as you know how to make your own loads. And even if you don't, it's still a fun gun.
It's a break-action single-barrel. There is no reason not to own it. No way for it to not be reliable except if it's actually literally worn to shit.
I don't know why I have never thought of this until now, but what if someone were to make a single-barrel breakaction with a smoothbore and as a really nifty gizmo, have it so it works on electric ignition, and has a handcrank that can be pulled out from the stock to charge the electric ignition system.
Also having a Mauser esque bolt where you can pull out the entire electric igniter and use it for starting campfires and the like. Shit would sell like hotcakes.
So, not exactly a weapon, but I have one of the wonderful Soviet Tank helmets. And that thing really makes a for a great early spring/late fall hat. One day I might fit in proper headphones into the earpieces. Generic Image of it, although based on markings (not shown as with rest of relevant photos) it seems to be from the same batch as this one.
It's funny you mention that about the MICH/ACH over the PASGT
"Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH) is based on the MICH design and provides an improved helmet to soldiers, replacing the older PASGT. It provides increased 9mm bullet protection. Comes with pad suspension system and the four-point chinstrap. Primary users: originally Army, now all services. The GI helmet pads by Team Wendy are still issued, making the helmets almost unwearable so troops take them off or loosen the chin straps trying to get relief…ruining their protection."
Honestly, I just re arranged the pads in mine until it felt comfortable and fit well; I'd love one of those Ops-Core FAST style helmets though.
This image is watermarked from an airsoft site, but the images are of the real helmet:

Actually there's no padding inside ours except for a small strip at the back that's what I was referring to
This is how the inside looks

The padding like those of other countries helmets has to be bought from outside the army

And how would it work with regular shotgun shells? You know; the single most common type of ammunition on earth?
ops-core got the contract for the new standard issue helmet of the Norwegian armed forces

You're late, norwegian armed forces have had FAST helmets for some years now.

New often refers to something recent, three to five years isn't that recent.
in military terms it is
the hk416n/hk416k are still the "new" standard issue rifles of norway even though they were beginning to be phased in in like 2005
I heard they had reliability problems in cold weather. Is that true? If so, have you guys figured out how to fix it?

Quiet a few ways exist, just gotta figure out the easiest to work into the crank design.

Of course you can ignite powder with sparks, plenty of precision rifles do that already, but how will you do it with a regular 12-gauge shell? Or do you seriously intend your fictional over-complicated, over-engineered though-experiment to also use proprietary shells?
You know what'd be infinitely better in every way? A Stevens Model 94 with an old Zippo lighter crudely taped to the buttstock.

basically the russian equivalent of a chinook but for some reason they never trusted their own transmissions to keep meshed rotors synchronized
also much bigger than a chinook because of standard soviet compensation

Are Osprey books any good? I checked them out on Amazon while bored and a lot of their books had me interested like the weapons series and the 'X soldier vs Y soldier' ones, but the prices are kinda holding me back especially since a friend bought me a pretty good book detailing most of the important battles of the Pacific War for only $10 USD~

I know they're quite popular among reenactors and scale modellers because they provide good, clear sketches and info on individual units in specific theaters.
