That's a strange looking camo colour, never seen it in this shade of grey
Police shouldn't wear camo.
StuG dozer Best dozer
Rammpanzer is better. Some say rammpanzer was inspired by soviet tankers ramming into enemy tanks when they were running out of ammunition or, most probably, they were ramming enemies for shits and giggles.
Police shouldn't wear camo.
Unless it's blue, which looks nice.
Police shouldn't wear camo.
Sorry, was supposed to meant uniforms
in general it's probably good for police not to wear camo to remain instantly recognizable, but the option should be there if necessary
[t]https://i.guim.co.uk/img/media/f01989abd8356182f293499fb602417cc3bd88da/0_160_3500_2100/master/3500.jpg?w=620&q=55&auto=format&usm=12&fit=max&[/t] [t]http://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynamic/1/590x/secondary/Police-611899.jpg[/t] Britain's new armed police. Oddly enough we (the UK) have less armed police currently than we did 5 years ago so rather than this being a step toward militarisation/more armed police its more a restatement of how the police were before their budget was hacked to pieces. That said they get some fancy new gear. Heres an excerpt from the news about it with some discussion.
What rifle is that? I assume it's H&K, considering our police seems to have a boner for everything H&K produces
What rifle is that? I assume it's H&K, considering our police seems to have a boner for everything H&K produces
Actually it's a Sig MCX. They really like Sig piston ARs for some reason since they were using the Sig 516 before that
Man I can't get over how fuckin stupid the entire concept of 'piston' (as if the original wasn't already) AR's is.
Suits me, I prefer my police not to wear camo. Looks cool though, very scifi, I wonder what the material is
They're wearing the Arc'teryx LEAF Enhanced Combat Uniform which is probably the Gucchiest of uniforms. It's even more expensive than the Crye Precision gear that is popular with almost every military's special forces. [t]http://images-imgix.arcteryx.com/F16/450x500/Assault-Shirt-AR-Wolf.png[/t][t]http://images-imgix.arcteryx.com/F16/450x500/Assault-Pant-AR-Wolf.png[/t] They're made with the same Cotton/Nylon Cordura mix fabric that many modern military uniforms use with some mesh in areas that need to stretch. I think the Wolf Grey color makes it seem more sci-fi looking than what it is.
why is it a fucking stupid concept?
1: Take a rifle that has nothing wrong with it except it's reputation because it was overestimated in capabilities before it was fielded 2: Add extra moving parts, weight and fouling-points 3: Congratulations, you ruined a perfectly good design and gained no advantage what so ever

Don't they have one that flies vertically
Is it the triebflugel?

Power: 2 Bristol Siddeley 33,000lb trust Olympus 22R turbojets. Armament: Up to 4000lb of weapons on under wing pylons, proposed bomb load of up to 6000lb. Size: Wingspan – 37ft. Length – 89ft. Height – 24ft. Wing area – 700sq ft. Weights: Empty – 198,090lb. Maximum take – 413,788lb. Performance: Maximum speed – 1485mph. Ceiling – 56,000ft. Range – 3000 miles. Climb – 50,000ft per minute. During further test flights, the extremely complex aircraft showed that it had the potential to become one of the most formidable strike aircraft in the world. The aircraft made 24 flights and accumulated 13 hours and 9 minutes of flight time, including some at supersonic speeds, before the TSR.2 project was cancelled by new Labour government on April 6, 1965. The government cited spiralling cost and the minimum 3 year delay in the TSR.2 reaching squadron service as reasons for the decision. The RAF never did receive an alternative to the TSR.2 as a supersonic strike successor to the Canberra.
What a beaut'
What a beaut'
;___________________; [editline]5th August 2016[/editline] It's a damn shame it was cancelled

Direct impingement systems need constant cleaning, unlike pistons.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/vulaYwM.jpg[/t] Swiss police also rocking the Arc'teryx stuff. Also the first time I've seen anyone using those ear flap attachments on the Ops Core Helmets outside of the Swedish police
;___________________; [editline]5th August 2016[/editline] It's a damn shame it was cancelled
They cancelled it, then ordered the F-111K to replace it, then cancelled the F-111K a year later.
Don't they have one that flies vertically
Early VTOL were hideously gorgeous...
They cancelled it, then ordered the F-111K to replace it, then cancelled the F-111K a year later.
I know, it was an absolutely retarded decision and sounded the death bell for our own aircraft industry
So the SCAR is ruined?
No, the SCAR is an entirely different weapon build around the way it functions, instead of just replacing one part and pretending it's an improvement despite it clashing with the rest of the design.
Except now you don't have to worry about your BCG being coated in carbon after a few shots. Direct impingement systems need constant cleaning, unlike pistons.
They require the exact same amount of cleaning; carbon fouling doesn't magically disappear just because you move the piston from the bolt carrier to a stick in the middle of the handguard. You still get fouling, you just moved the problem and added another point of cleaning without any upsides. DI AR's are no more dirty or unreliable than any other service rifle in use around the world, and switching DI out for short-stroke is just taking a whole rifle which is built around one system, slapping in another system it isn't built for, and claiming you fixed it where in reality, you made it heavier, more complicated and changed nothing.
DI's usually operate at higher pressures which I have to assume blasts debris out of the action to some degree.

Instead of spraying it all over your BCG and having to break it down to clean it (which is a pain in the ass), you mainly have to worry about the piston head and the inside of the gas tube. Sure, you'll still find buildup in the receiver and on the BCG, but there's a noticeable difference. Unless we're talking about M249s. Fuck those things. They still manage to get dirty as fuck and break down.
You still have to break down and clean your BCG regardless of gas system, otherwise that's just piss poor maintenance and asking for malfunctions
Breaking it down, wiping some carbon off and adding a little lube is one thing. Breaking it down and meticulously scrubbing every millimeter of every component is another entirely.
