Fucking what We don't even need boots on the grounds for airstrikes in the future. Just get 4chan to call it in
It's not the first time they've done it.
No military intelligence will ever beat hundreds of nerds with nothing better to do.
[t]https://2new1.fjcdn.com/pictures/4chan+pol+sg+orders+an+airstirkes_b88f6f_5880308.jpg[/t] Yeah, from time to time /pol/ and /sg/ organize intel operations where they take footage from videos and use it to aid the Syrian and Russian forces bomb the FSA to shit.
That backpack computer looks like it can become a pain in the ass to carry around on top of all the other gear.
I really wish we'd see some like new vests or something to cut down on the weight carried, not increased.

I have no idea how its weight compares to the old one. It has a unique webbing system that is apparently incompatible with MOLLE. The helmets are Ops Core FASTs, so at least those should be lighter.

Plus there's the issue that you can't seemingly restart the computer or change batteries on your own without dismounting it first, and if it's attached to your vest, you might need to remove the whole vest to do so.
they're gonna be proper fucked if someone decides to EMP the area, or use jamming equipment.
Or if something breaks it. Or the guy carrying batteries gets capped. Or it's used to take shrapnel. It doesn't need to be near sci-fi weirdness to ruin a computer. It could easily just get overheated and fry itself in, say, the Afghan sun

Fuck carrying all that extra weight. Give me the body armor, helmet, rifle, spare mags, fak and canteen. Leave everything else at the fob.
Post your favorite videogame grenade launchers/guns with underbarrel grenade launchers, here's mine: :vs:
Here are my theories of how it works: Theory 1: its actually a really small grenade, and the ammo pickup model looks bigger than it actually is. Really futuristic stuff! Theory 2: it grows in size as its fired Theory 3 and the more plausible theory: Gordon Freeman actually throws the grenade as fast as a launcher shoots it, and the recoil we see when firing one, is actually the user pulling back the weapon, and throwing it with his left arm really really fast, to the point of not being able to see him take the hand off the handle, and coupling it with a "THUMP" sound, made by himself with his mouth. The smoke trail it emits is because of how fast he did it. Theory 4: some predator suit shit going on with the HEV suit Theory 5: Magic?... At least the shotgun is easier to explain... "What a huge mistake... It doesn't fires a second round from the tube where the mag reserve is! Stupid Valve!" Ofc not. It's 20something. You'd expect the Combine, who can store dark energy balls in compact cartridges and fire them from rifles to be able to make up a shotgun that can fire two rounds in one trigger pull, without using the ammo reserve tube, no? :v: [editline]21st August 2016[/editline]
but the critical question is who has the coolest delivery system?
MOLLE should have been like that from the beginning though. making it a symmetric grid of 100% squares is much better seeing as you can mount pouches in four different direction rather than only up/down.
They could have kept the grid and still made it MOLLE compatible. Problem is that the IDZ vest uses 20mm webbing while MOLLE uses 25mm In other news
Iran announced earlier this week that it has manufactured a new tank dubbed ‘Karrar‘ which is as deadly as the Russian T-90. “The defense industry designed and built the new battle tank from scratch. If not better, it’s still as deadly as the Russian T-90,” Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said in an interview with the state-run TV last Tuesday night. His remarks came after Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said Iran was no longer interested in buying T-90 main battle tanks from Russia, and plans to supply its needs through domestic production. “We were once interested in buying the Russian tanks. But since we can manufacture similar models within the country and we plan to do so in the near future, the deal is now off,” Pourdastan said last week. According to him, Iran has enough capacity and techological know-how to produce new generation battle tanks and advanced military hardware, so it makes no sense to purchase them from elsewhere.
[t]http://defence-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/14055094_1297998960244520_5448126335070319700_n.jpg[/t][t]http://immortaltoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/t90ms_tagil_l2.jpg[/t] OC Donut Steel
So... a T-90MS? I mean it's practically the same tank.
was there any tech-transfer or local manufacturing deal with the T-90 deal? would make sense if they utilized any expertise gained from that and made a local tank instead. [editline]21st August 2016[/editline] and it's not like T-72 upgrade kits are impossible to produce locally, even finland considered one in the 80's
So... a T-90MS? I mean it's practically the same tank.
Or at the very least it strongly resembles the T-90MS externally. Reminds me of the Serbian M-84AS which strongly resembles the original T-90/T-90A. [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/88/M-84AS_mbt_1.JPG/1920px-M-84AS_mbt_1.JPG[/t] The Iranians' other MBT, Zulfiqar-3, looks kind of like an Abrams. It is actually developed from T-72, M48, and M60 components. [t]http://pds21.egloos.com/pds/201403/15/60/f0205060_5323ffe84a418.jpg[/t][t]http://i50.tinypic.com/2ur73if.jpg[/t]

If all those fancy scopes and computers break or are jammed you'll just end up with the same equipment as the modern soldiers, except for some communication devices and other electronic stuff. That giant ass backpack computer is kinda crazy though. I mean, I haven't seen anything in this video that haven't been implemented in other future soldier programs, but none of them employ a computer that huge it takes all the backpack.
That backpack computer looks like it can become a pain in the ass to carry around on top of all the other gear.
I've tried the local equivalent and it's a pain in the ass to use. The computer rarely works. We condensed everything into a smartphone that can barely sustain itself outfield. The system may be intuitive to use out of the box but when I'm storming a building having to stop to mark out bullshit and suchlike is more of a hindrance than a boon. What's worse is being light infantry and having to lug all this crap around from FRV to FUP then by the time I'm at the objective I'm too tired to even fight in, let alone fight through. When they consider such things I mean sure it's probably nice and all for a quick and light assault and I would probably appreciate it better as either a mechanised or motorised infantry commander who can dismount and arrive relatively fresh and then proceed on to fight in and through. But as a light infantry commander, in its current form it's more trouble than it's worth for my guys. As the GPMG commander this is immediately more apparently as I can be within my firebase and being asked over my PRC to check my stupid phone for situational updates. There isn't a need for me for to use it for reference especially if it can be worse than useless. What the hell is "Danger Area" supposed to mean? What kind of danger? Stranger Danger? Fallen trees? An OPFOR platoon? If it's going to be lumbered on me, I would appreciate if it was at least significantly helpful and could at least show itself to an improvement over just yelling at me over the PRC because I'm half-deaf from the GPMG. The MG gunner doesn't mind lugging a 11kg GPMG about because they know it will be useful if we get contacted, the assistant doesn't mind his 500 rounds of 7.62 and myself, I don't mind my carrying my PRC and 250 rounds of 7.62 on top of all the bullshit I have to carry. What I do mind is however this future soldier system that will die on me eventually if the mission stretches out and even worse, before it mercifully dies on me, god forbid no, I have to use it. I know this is going to sound super old-fashioned but what I would like is better equipment and sensible training, most of our GPMGs are at least a decade older than our troops and our SAWs are not that much younger. Our Radio sets are going to shit. Left-handed personnel are told to fuck themselves in our army with a assault rifle that they are not allowed to fire from the left and instead of proper coaching, have people people tell them to put on an eye-patch rather than learn to fire with both eyes open. In a conscript army, weapons training becomes a hilarious game of telephone with instructors not being that much knowledgeable than their trainees on the weapon, unless they go for specialty weapons courses, like I was blessed to go for. I mean this is off on a tangent but I feel that in modernising the soldier, they have considered everything but the soldier. But then again maybe it's just my conscript mindset setting in and I've got this system all wrong. but on that note I CAN'T FEEL MY FORESKIN
on the eye-patch thing, for some people it's legit impossible to actually focus through the sights properly if their dominant hand and eye don't line up I got a lot of shit for having to keep an eye closed or use an eyepatch until we got an actually sensible instructor
