Should a British lend-lease tank be returned to British colors too? Besidesd, those thanks are in fine condition. They saw war, they saw wear & tear from field use are in peacetime, and were finally retired into the museum whereas they're maintained well. If they were not maintained they'd look a lot worse.
That looks to me like it's in incredible shape.
It was kept under a towel next to my great aunts bed ever since my family moved from wisconsin to california in like the 50's.
I've got a bayonet like that for my Enfield, it pretty much turns it into a spear.
Enfield makes good spear.
Enfield makes good spear.
Good thing, too. Considering how hard-to-get ammo is, it'd be useless otherwise.

i saw one of those as a semi-auto reproduction complete with violin case at a shop a while back, it looked heavy, ridiculous, and the price was surprisingly low

Can't slash with a spear. There's a reason they went to the spear bayonet on the No4 and then brought back a blade bayonet.
Why would you need a sword when you can have a cool spear that can also shoot? *M44 pic*
I feel like a midget when I stand next to my m91 with the bayonet attached, it's longer than I am tall.

Contract is for 90,000-101,000 rifles with 16,000 to be delivered per year for a total of 300-400 million Euro, including life cycle costs for the next 30 years. FN is still going to appeal the decision in the Administrative Court of the French government.
