Hi guys, I was kinda interested in what guns Australia has made over the years, I've looked through http://world.guns.ru/ but I thought that if there were any more obscure/forgotten guns this would probably be the place to ask
[editline]6[/editline]
Also can anybody tell me what the hell the aussie military were smoking when they commissioned this

Three-shot grenade launcher meant to do airbursts and dumb shit like that. Like literally every grenade launcher of its' type and time, it never really worked and was an all-round terrible idea.

Oh, so it's yet another attempt at an OICW. Outstanding.
Looks like a Steyr with a massive hormone problem.

Here's a .22LR prototype SMG build by the guy who went on to create the Owen IIRC

Far as I recall (and I could google this, but I won't, because I'm a dick), it's made from the flywheel of a car or some shit for the magazine, and the trigger is the thin plate up above the grip. You press it with your thumb. Because 'straya.

The magazine spins the other way around on the northern hemisphere.
Springfield is rewarding one of the sales staff I work with at my gun store with an M1A.
Just, for selling a lot of their firearms.
God I want to be in sales.

I have some doubts about the claims of that last image. Also note that the second trigger is the magazine release

With the recent rise of terror related attacks in Germany, particularly with knives, machetes and axes, German police are now issuing more officers with chainmail. It’s kind of an odd mix of old world medieval armor with modern day tactical equipment.
Chain mail alone protects only against sharp things but does nothing to stop the impact force. I can't fathom what's the purpose of the chainmail balaclava that lacks any padding at all.

Probably to avoid slashes across the face? That way, a knife-attack hitting the face will 'only' be a punch to the face. I can see how that'd help a fair bit.

Awesome! I've always wanted to see a rail-mounted bayonet lug, 'cause I have a fondness of bayonets and their dying off in recent years made me sad.
The museum that I used to vounteer at has got a shop attached to it, and currently they are doing a huge sell off. There is a very interesting looking trench knife made from a German bayonet, and I'm thinking of getting it. Are there any specialist items I need to display it? Or should it be fine on my shelf? They are also selling a old Aussie Bren, I wish I had enough money to get it!
No, just on your shelf should be fine. Just keep it out of sunlight, away from moisture and not near/above a radiator and it should be ok.
when are you ever going to need a bayonet?
There's been a few incidents of them getting put to use in Iraq and Afghanistan, quite successfully.

For when beating your enemy to death with a tripod is getting boring, clearly.

Guy's part of the Royal Gurkha Rifles, do you even need to ask?
These guys will kill with a toothpick when not even given half a chance, they'll just do it.
Look them up if you haven't before, the shit they go through before getting into the Army is just amazing, if their's one guy you don't want to be against, its someone from one of those regiments.

Politest guys you'll ever meet, and the food is out of this world amazing.
They do occasionally get in trouble for decapitating the corpses of Taliban commanders to provide proof of kills though.

Plastic spoons are not to be underestimated, snap the front or the handle slightly and the fuckers a damn shank.
when are you ever going to need a bayonet?
Probably in close combat indoors, when it's faster or easier to just strike/slash an enemy with it than to actually point your gun and shoot them.
Plastic spoons are not to be underestimated, snap the front or the handle slightly and the fuckers a damn shank.
Actually it's really hilariously simple to kill a man if you think about it. Pretty much anything solid can be effectively used to just beat the shit out of an enemy, bonus points if that thing also happens to be sharp or can be made sharp within seconds( just like that spoon).
