Oh shit, we talking 'bout the Gurkhas now?
Those are some crazy mofo's that just wont give in no matter the odds.
Look up Lachhiman Gurung. This fella was stationed with 2 other men as 200 japanese soldiers attacked their position. The 2 other guys were wounded almost from the get go.
Did Lachhiman Gurung lay down his arms and surrendered to the Japanese?
Nope, he decided to keep fighting, tossing back grenades again and again, until one exploded in his hand. This didn't stop him, he kept fighting until reinforcements arrived.
Gurkhas are nuts. There is no other way to put it.
There's also Bishnu Shrestha! One man train robbery stopper.
Well, he was fine with them robbing and taking things, but decided to fuck shit up when they were going to rape a girl.
Didn't the Argentines run away when we sent them to the Falklands too?

Ukrainian "Malyuk" AK bullpup
I have some doubts about the claims of that last image. Also note that the second trigger is the magazine release

One wonders why when they already have 5.45x39 Tavors...
One wonders why when they already have 5.45x39 Tavors...
Because the Tavor is shit.
Because the Tavor is shit.
An AK shoehorned into a bullpup kit is somehow better?
At least the Russians did it right with the Groza...
An AK shoehorned into a bullpup kit is somehow better?

Well that's the problem with those AK bullpups, they just shove a standard AK into a kit, what they need to do is take the AK platform and design it into a bullpup, not take a normal one and throw some wire and shit around it.
Still doesn't change the fact the Tavor is shit though.
Bottom half of the receiver would make a really cool future pistol

Good luck finding a magazine pouch for that.

The company making the Malyuk is a separate entity than Fort who produces the Tavors under license. Probably advertised as being easier to produce domestically since they can use existing AK tooling. Tavor still gets around though. Funnily enough, they're seen being used by Azov

7n6 is still better than M43 in terms of ballistics; it may just be a logistical thing.
Russian SF still use 7.62x39 from time to time, and the police use 9x39 for stopping deadly icicles! :V

Yeah, I just got back from actually looking at AR670-1. Our Drill Sergeants had us keep ours folded down even with body armor though, because fuck you, Private.

It got delayed again due to a bunch of little problems, but they're on track for a December release
October 1, 2016
Dear valued Customers,
MDR progress is coming along very well. We experienced a 2.5 week delay in order to improve the MDR’s bore obstruction performance to our satisfaction. We are moving into final longevity testing on a much larger batch of pre-production MDR’s to ensure there aren’t any issues with tolerance stacking or other unpredictable part variations. This is critical to ensure large volumes of rifles can quickly be assembled without any fit or function issues. Ultimately we want to ensure that quality products end up in our customer’s hands. We are getting very close and our engineering staff is very excited with our current position. We are still on track to ship the first MDR’s in December. We truly appreciate everyone’s patience and support.
Sincerely
Nicholas Young

In other news HK showed off the G28/M110A that won the CSASS contract

They're still making changes to the accessories/furniture. It currently has a Geissele M-LOK rail
Also, the Army is looking to drafting requirements for a "Mobile Protected Firepower (MPF) platform" which is basically a light/medium tank that weights ~32 tons and has a 105/120mm gun
[t]http://www.janes.com/images/assets/287/64287/p1484887.jpg[/t]
GDLS showed off the "Griffin" demonstrator to fulfill that requirement which uses the same hull as the UK's Ajax scout vehicle/ASCOD. BAE showed off the M8 derivative that was posted elsewhere in this thread

huh, i really love the idea of PA but ya i've heard this over and over again. The problem i always see with it is that it really is a very hard game to recover from any sort of misstep
planetary annihilation has that sort of scale but that's because its from the same developers
PA just has system scale, but the units don't follow any real scaling rules. It's all over the place in unit size and design.
Cybran are also Glorious, you cannot doubt their genious, just look at the Brick

PA is okay but unless the late game solar system scale stuff really catches your fancy you're better off just sticking with SupCom since the games play almost exactly the same

I have no idea how any of this thing is supposed to work

The crazy thing is that it was such a successful interwar design that it actually went into production after the war as the Panhard EBR
[t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/7e/Panhard_EBR_150808_01.jpg/1920px-Panhard_EBR_150808_01.jpg[/t]
It has two drivers, one facing forward and one facing the rear, so that it can disengage very quickly if need be. "Frenchman retreating" jokes aside, its actually a really slick design for a recon vehicle.

That's actually a common design for recon vehicles of the ww2 or at least for the German and Italian armored cars developed in the war.
